Yep, and LSU/O are going to have to do a better job of keeping these kind of players in school.
Otherwise, it's a tough road to compete with BAMA.

Somebody on Saints Talk said we should have taken Clapp over the lineman we got out of FSU.
So.........maybe NFL teams know more about prospects than we do?

If you don't get a 1st or 2nd round grade, you should come back period. That leaves some margin for error with someone dropping to the 3rd.
But these jabroni's that are getting 5th round or lower grades are just complete idiots to leave. Work your arse of for 9 months and be set for life. I mean, it isn't that hard!

Kinda hard to when everyone on the internet is saying how dumb and awful your head coach is. These kids don't live in a bubble.

I agree completely. We (the fans) are far more responsible for not being in a position to win championships than our last two coaches are.

So, the players are so weak minded that when they are on the field they are thinking of what a bunch of white guys are saying on the internet?
They're probably huddled around thier phones after practice discussing the posts.

Clapp was a Rimington Award finalist 2-time 1st team All-SEC and a Freshman All-American. And it seems like he was the SEC Lineman of the week every other week last year. I expect he'll be a solid center at the next level, seems like that would at least be worth a mid-round pick.

You live in a bubble and have no clue how the real world works. But you’re in good company. Most of our fans don’t either. So go play with your LEGO’s and leave the real conversations to the adults.

They’re avoiding him like the clap.

Think he'd be a better guard than center, just like pocic.

Thought dad should have insisted that he returned to LSU for his senior year.

Did he not “work his arse off” the previous years??
If not, what makes you think he would all of a sudden start now?
To think a guy that goes late or undrafted will all of a sudden rocket up draft boards just because they go back to school is fricking stupid.
Sometimes players just aren’t cut out for the next level, at least not based on how their value is viewed in the draft process. That’s not to say players can’t sign on and prove themselves on the field in practice.
But guys that don’t measure, interview, or evaluate well with these draft guys will likely stack up very similarly in “nine months”.

Some ody needs to talk to these kids about leaving early. They would be better off and the football team would be as well

yea, he hut our OL big time when he left. we'll recover but to have him back at center would have been huge for next year. I say that, other than Guice, losing Clapp was the worst loss we could have had.

Obviously a mistake. Sean Payton hates LSU.
