From SEC Country:
LINK
quote:

But short of a bid into a “New Year’s Six” bowl game, the Citrus Bowl marks the best possible outcome for the Tigers in Orgeron’s first season. In fact, it’s probably even better than the New Year’s Six.

This year, three of the biggest New Year’s bowl games aren’t even being played on New Year’s. The Cotton Bowl is Friday, Dec. 29. The Fiesta and Orange Bowls are Saturday, Dec. 30

quote:

In the Citrus Bowl, the Tigers get one of the two games leading directly into the Rose Bowl, which is a national semifinal. The other is the Peach Bowl, which is the last of the New Year’s Six games outside of the playoff. The college football world — and beyond — will be tuned in.

quote:

That exposure will only be elevated by the fortune of drawing Notre Dame. No, this isn’t the College Football Playoff. But in a season where any dream of reaching that level was already dashed in September, a Citrus Bowl bid marks the best imaginable outcome. Orgeron’s first full season, which once looked helplessly lost, can be safely marked down as a victory. And now there’s a chance to finish it with an exclamation point.

Nah , I've never said that.
Ever.

I just said I don't give a shite about his time there.
It's irrelevant to where he is today and how he manages his career.

Considering 80% of this board thought we'd be 3-9 after the loss to Troy, yeah the Citrus is actually a pretty big win

I'm curious if you've had this same attitude since 2011 because this season is pretty much on par if not somewhat ahead of every season in terms of wins and conference record.

I'm NOT saying that's the goal. Just curious about the proportionality of your bitchiness.

Notre Dame fans are overly confident because they think they just need to bring the same intensity as Troy. We have to beat them.

the sec back then was fricking brutal. LSU beat top teams this team hasn't they beat a three loss auburn team and who else? A bunch of SEC schools in the toilet about to fire their coaches. very impressive stuff

Actually, I agree with the article. I had us in a very dark place after the two early losses. But the train got back on the tracks and the team is as tough as any in the country right now. Notre Dame is a great opponent this year. It will be a very tough game to win but it will put us in a great position going into next year.

Any bowl outside of the playoff is a major bust for the Tigers. It's amazing how our fans have happily accepted this program's slide to middle of the pack.

2016 - Citrus vs Louisville(under Orgeron)
2015 - Texas Bowl vs Texas Tech
2014 - Music City Bowl vs Notre Dame
2013 - Outback Bowl vs Iowa
2012 - Chick-fil-A Bowl vs Clemson

Since the 2011 BCS game which bowl was better?

To me, the 2016/17 Citrus appearances are on par with the 2012 Peach Bowl. Think it used to be SEC champ to Sugar, SEC runner up to the Capital One (Citrus), #3 to the Peach Bowl/Cotton Bowl.

yeah, ever since that most recent, in 2012, 2nd place finish in the SECW it's been awesome up to the point we fired Miles right?
