Doesn't sound genuine. And that "pucker up" crap is beyond corny. Even worse at football. Next, please.

Light years better than Hawthorne. I actually get a true picture of what is going on. No more, that ball was hit, it is back there, going back, going back, oh the short stop catches it in shallow left field.

You've been listening to Hawthorne for too long. The man was around a long time, and did a good job. But listening to other announcers from across the country made his inadequacies more apparent. His voice was like a rip off of Bob Uecker from Major League, and he fricked up constantly. (Jack Hunt? Really? Biggest call of your life and you mix up a white safety with a black receiver?) Blair seems off to you because he is what a professional voice talent sounds like. Get used to it, he's gonna be here a while because he's good at his job, and better than Jim was.
