His shitty call was on the streaming version of Nichols game. Pathetic

But he sounds soooo professional

I cannot listen to him call games. For one the calls are extremely delayed to the point the crowd is reacting and he is working to catch up. And he is so dry.

The problem is: he’s an import doing a job. He doesn’t sound like a fan who bleeds purple and gold. Hawthorne was.

Jim Hawthorne was very good. He declined with age and became a crotchety old man on air. But in reality he always was crotchety just not on air. Some people didn’t appreciate what they had.

I loved Hawrhorne for a long time and will always have the best memories of him calling games, but it was time with how he was getting on air.

I have heard Blair do a good job at times and show a lot of excitement, but I've also heard the delayed and unexciting calls quite a bit too.

Yep. He has me missing hawthorne...something I thought wouldn't happen lol.

I absolutely can't stand his touchdown calls when lsu scores. "TOUCHDOWN TIGERS". It just sounds so forced and unemotional. I really hate how he calls games. I get the feeling he's just doing it for the money and it's just a job for him. Unlike hawthorne, who sounded like he was really invested in the lsu games as a tiger fan. Damn, I miss that guy. Give me his calls with some of the screw-ups over chris blair's dull arse call anyday. TIGERS WIN!, TIGERS WIN!
