They might. But if they do, you can bet your arse a coach will be getting fired. And another one and another one until they find the next one that will win championships for them. It's what they do and it's why they have 15 national championships. It's not what we do and that's why we have 3.

. If LSU plays Oklahoma St, Miles has 2 NC's at LSU, and Saban has 2 NC's at Alabama......and LSU doesn't have that meltdown during the rematch.....
As usual...ALOT of ifs in your post.........

.....thus they likely have much more confidence to finish the game in 2012 and 2014
You hve ero clue that would have happened.....
quote:
....that one decision to put Bama in the championship game instead of OK St changed the landscape of the SEC West.
If you really believe this, you are more stupid than I thought....

I really enjoy the part where you sarcastically say "LSU DOMINATED Bama 9-6" and then act like I'm a total a-hole for being sarcastic. did you get a PhD in reverse psychology? also reverse psychology: using "troll" against me. I'm glad you looked that word up in urban dictionary after I called you out for being a troll six months ago, but we all know who the troll is (spoiler: dukke v). and why does every one of your posts have at least 5 ellipses in it? it's like a stutter or an audible pause. I'm worried about you
Stalker and a troll..... Get a life.... But if chasing my every post on a message board is a life for you....God help ya..............

Very true............

I'm not sure why the admins have allowed you to troll for so long on here. It's really ridiculous. I don't know of one single poster on here than has an ounce of respect for your postings, and therefore, for you. You actually continue to get worse. You are pathetic, and don't even realize it. Not even worth the effort to waste on you, thus I very rarely do anymore.

Agreed. The biggest problem that most LSU fans have is the lost to bama in national championship game was a huge disaster. It was, but the realist, that realized that bama was probably the better team after being outplayed in first game. We out scored them but didn't outplay them. 3 or 5 missed fg.
No real problem with most of this statement, except the reference to the missed field goals. The assumption is that missing one or more of the field goals was a fluke or bad luck. Statistically, those field goal missed attempts were not bad luck or flukes. They were virutally impossible for the kickers from Alabama. The miracle would have been had any of them actually been successful. Most coaches, had they had those kickers, would have punted in every one of the situations where the attempts were in excess of 40 yards. The puzzling thing was why the attempts were made. Sort of like the puzzler in the game with the Auburn run back of the failed 52 yarder v. Alabama.

LSU's program now versus in 1979 is apples to oranges.
Tell that to Florida.
And I know UM wasn't fired

Get prepared, once Miles retires, LSU will be on the ash heap again. There is no that can take the most talent rich area, with top facilities and hope to win a championship until Saban retires.
I remember when after Saban was hired, the black cloud was still hanging low.

If Les could win another National Championship he would be the greatest coach in our history but not sure if that will happen. He is comparable to Cholly Mac though.

well, Coach Mac went there and they seemed to have improved
Posted on 4/17/15 at 9:42 pm to dukke v
The only argument I have is the conference has been tougher. A lit of people say well they added more games so its easier to get 10 wins, well yeah they added more sec games to the schedule. And to win a championship you have to play 3 more sec games than when cm was coach. And two of the toughest schedules LSU has ever played were under miles. He played for a title in both those seasons. Les is the best coach we have had.

Are why did they go on 4th in two in auburn game. Agreed about field goals. Just saying they had more opportunities to win the first game.

McClendon lost his job in large part to being 2-8 vs Bama
I believe Mac lost his job in large part due to the fact that he went from winning 79% in a 5 yr. period from 69-73 to a 6 yr. period from 74-79 where he won 59%of is games. In that 6 yr. period, LSU only won 44% of their SEC games.
Bama was winning 95% of their conference games during that 6 yr. period. Mac didn't get fired for not beating Bama. He got fired cause he was losing more SEC games than he was winning. Hell, Bama only lost 2 conference games in that 6 yr. period. Every school in the SEC would have had to fire their coach is not beating Bama was good cause for firing.

Les needs to beat Bama to keep LSU relevant in any championship discussions going forward! We'll do so in Tuscaloser this season!

You're putting way too much stock into the Bama game.
This is what's great about being an LSU fan, the fact that we don't have a rivalry game that makes or breaks a season for us.
If LSU loses in Tuscaloosa but still makes it to the SEC Championship Game, sign me up.

How about Oregon, where they've continued winning?
Tennessee is not a talent rich state and requires national recruiting.
UF was destroyed by Meyer after he let the inmates run the asylum the last 2 years.
Texas waited too long, which is counter to your point. Strong is an excellent coach and if LSU wants to go the route of UT, that is fine.
Michigan hired a guy that was completely changing the teams identity and needed time.
Nebraska, see Tennessee.
USCw was a juggernaut and sanctions killed them. Your point?
PSU? seriously?
Miami? They hired within and that is entirely on them. They've also let boosters run wild. Entirely different situations.
So in every case you've given, it's proven nothing against LSU being able to adequately replace Miles once he leaves. Those schools either waited too long, had their exiting coach tear down the structure and bail, gotten on probation, or been in an area that makes recruiting difficult.
None of those match LSU at the moment.
LSU can just as easily make a bad hire and fall flat on its face just like a lot of those other nationally recognized programs in your list. I just hope that, once Les is gone, we make a smart hire and avoid falling into the deep pit that Tennessee has fallen into as a result of pushing out a successful coach in Philip Fulmer. They are still struggling to recover. There is no reason that LSU can't suffer the same fate as a Florida, Tennessee, Nebraska, or Michigan. The next hire after Les is going to be very critical to our football program.

Cholly Mac went to college (UK) with my pop.
I don't have that kind of access to CLM.
Hence-
McClendon > Miles
