I agree with the posts here. I just have a motto and here it is:
When you throw a cigarette on the ground you take your foot and grind it out until all the embers are gone. THAT is what I want to do to Chizik and his band of miscreants this Saturday!!!

the auburn players will give it their best effort with or without chizik. they do not love LSU and they are playing at home. it is quite possible that their team will gel saturday nite. i've seen this scenario play out many times before where a team with talent struggles the first few games and then when they have "nothing to lose" come together and perform at a high level. fortunately for LSU, their qb is very inaccurate with this passes and we have very a very good backfield. i expect auburn to give us a run for the money and the fouth qtr will tell the story.

Talent?
Their offense is ranked 102/120 in the NCAA. They start a QB who could actually be worse than Jordan Jefferson.
Their defense is ranked 94/120 in the NCAA.
It could be close for about a quarter, but LSU rolls to a 4+ TD win.

Everyone LSU plays brings their A game. Its their opportunity to make national news by beating a highly ranked team. Auburn will play hard but not any harder than North Texas, Washington or Idaho.

LSU needs to take the wind out of their sales early. Auburn is scrappy, and if you let them hang around it will be embarrassing. I don't see LSU losing this game, but anything short of a blow out will be eaten up by the media.
If LSU wants the Bama is better monkey off their back they need to allow zero touchdowns and put up over 45 points.

I generally agree with the OP. Auburn does have talent. They have recruited well. And their coaching staff is desperate for a win which will salvage their careers. We'll get Auburn's best effort.

Kind of like the 1993 LSU/Bama game did?
They threw out the flying pigs reference before that game too, and we all know how it turned out.
Auburn makes me nervous, mostly because they're at home. They're backed into a corner and trying to prevent their season from going into the crapper. We're pretty banged up and have a young QB who will be making his first start in a very hostile enviromnment. And you can never underestimate the role of the officials in this game. When was the last time an LSU/Auburn game in Jordan-Hare was called fairly?
