the biggest recruiting tool always will be winning

we'd have players lining up to play in his offense

We watched different games.

LSU had the most talent on that team we may have ever had. Mathieu basically was the difference in that game.

Perhaps, but it didn't really happen that way in Oregon with Nike backing him. I don't think it is a stretch to suggest he underperformed on the recruiting trail considering his success on the field and the appeal of Oregon w/ Nike.

Yet he came within a field goal of beating newton and winning a NC. Thanks for making our point. The guy can coach.

I'm not arguing against your point. I'd love Kelly here. Just pointing out that he didn't get as much mileage on the recruiting trail as his success on the field and Nike relationship would seem to dictate.

You do realize that 2011 LSU might be the second best college football team of all time, right?

Me too. Kelly is a solid coach, but he just doesn't seem like a good fit for our program. I think it could go horribly wrong, like Rich Rod at Michigan.

Kiffin has some baggage, but frankly, I liked his attitude at Tennessee. His 2011 team at USC was damn good and the roster attrition there due to the NCAA sanctions can't be totally disregarded.
