Incorrect. I know I was expecting bunt/take at least until 2 strikes. Even then, I would have still probably tried to bunt due to Rhymes' affinity for double plays.
That's why he started the runner.

PM's own words
He knew it was a gamble. The right thing to do was to bunt.

Absolutely. And I never claimed using tonight's ABs directly excluded looking into an entire season of shittiness for an initial cleanup hitter.

To be fair, it was a pretty easy call to make before the double play as well...
Yeah...

So what you think hes gonna drop a bomb right there? We would have had two chances to get a single there. The way the game was going honestly you really thought we should swing away on a guy that was struggling? If you do I would love to meet you for a beer and explain this game that I have played from 3 all the way to 22 in college.
He has a .400 OBP in 2-0 count. He could have easily reached base, which would have greatly increased our chances of tying or winning the game.
Like I said earlier

I honestly think it was a close call either way. If you prefer bunting, fine. If you prefer swinging away, fine. If you think someone is an idiot for feeling the other way, then you are probably the idiot.
but we could certainly get a beer. i love beer. and i would love to be told to "eat a dick" in person.

It's fine that you can own up to gambling and all that, but don't do it with a markedly unclutch inning killer.

he is our fifth hitter and he is hitting .337/.408./.454. yeah, that is so shitty

Coach admits he gambled and lost.

nobody is disputing it didn't work out. that doesn't mean it was the wrong decision at the time.

It was the wrong decision. The odds were WAY against it being the right decision. The last think you want is a double play. He knows it and admits it.

not very good, given the context of the situation. seems like you didn't watch LSU this year.

Hahaha... I've never eaten a dick before, but if I was gonna eat one, I'd want to try it in Louisiana. You know there is some 473 pound LSU fan that has found a way to fry a dick and make it so good that you can't just eat one.

strongly disagree and I am pretty sure years of analytical data would as well. Even if it was wrong, no way was it "WAY" wrong.

If you were doing the data mining, I'm sure it would.

C'mon man. We're talking the simplest level of baseball here.

Yes, it was way wrong. Too many bad things could happen vs putting a runner in scoring position.
If the bunt had failed, no one would blame coach for the decision.

I don't think I have agreed with a thing you have said in this thread, and you probably haven't with me. So I guess we will have to agree to disagree.
If I remember correctly, you are a Modest Mouse fan, so you are still cool in my book.
