I seem to remember hearing on one of the radio talk shows that the only reason A&M is in the suit is to try and keep the case in the Texas Courtrooms.

Not sure how it works, but it would be funny as hell if he did that and got a judge from LSU!

By naming atm he will keep the lawsuit in Texas state court. The petition stated that all of the events and occurrences which gave rise to the suit occurred while he lived in Texas which made me chuckle a bit.

I think it's pretty shitty of atm to be involved. I am sure they agreed to be named on the suit.

When I read it I just think its a flier in that they treat it like a declarer action to het the court to make a fast determination on which party has breached the contract. Then, they either win or lose and try to pay limited damages. Once that is done they will run to the Louisiana suit and claim red judicata and try to have it dismissed.

I really don't see much there. Lsu's answer should be due soon. they will need to respond to the dec action and a general denial of the breach claim. Wonder who will respond on behalf of lsu.

Judge is not from lsu. And yes, that is exactly why atm is named. Pretty shitty of Aggies to agree to be sued to keep lsu in Texas court

south Texas used to state some affiliation with atm but was always independent. I think atm made a move to buy them and integrate the school but south Texas wouldn't sell. So atm moved on to Wesleyan in ft worth which is now Texas am school of law.

I had many atm grads in my class in law school and the vast majority were pretty nice and very sharp. I think our top grad was an aggie and she is a very good attorney.

I graduated prior to atm joining the sec and the ut people were much bigger asswipes so I liked the Aggies a lot more. Now that they are in the sec their shitty fans have wondered to td. They aren't all as bad as the people we deal with here. Now the t sips. Not much good to say about them

The Aggies on Texags are taking this very serious. But the majority of them are not very smart and primarily speak Spanish.

A&M lawyers are the fricking worst. 95% of attorneys with a law degree from A&M would lie about anything. It is bred into them.

Well, considering Texas A&M didn't take ownership and control over the former Texas Wesleyan University School of Law until the Fall of 2013, there are no "A&M lawyers" quite yet.

But keep hating and screaming and don't worry about facts. They can be so annoying.

I wanted Chavis' D to tackle Bama in bounds on just one play in the final 50 seconds last year too...

He should pay us back for the bowl game coaching performance since he wasn't there.

Dude must've eaten a dozen tainted donuts. He is acting bizarre.

According to the NCAA website:
13.1.2.1 General Rule.

All in-person, on- and off-campus recruiting contacts with a prospective student-athlete or the prospective student-athlete's relatives or legal guardians shall be made only by authorized institutional staff members. Such contact, as well as correspondence and telephone calls, by representatives of an institution's athletics interests is prohibited except as otherwise permitted in this section.

13.01.1 Eligibility Effects of Recruiting Violation.

The recruitment of a student-athlete by a member institution or any representative of its athletics interests in violation of the Association's legislation, as acknowledged by the institution or established through the Association's infractions process, shall result in the student-athlete becoming ineligible to represent that institution in intercollegiate athletics...

Therefore, if Chavis was recruiting for A&M before employment; such contact are violations and should result in sanctions, including the ineligibility of the athletes that he contacted,

including Thee Mack Truck Payup Aggies, or lose your best Defensive recruit.

LSU should put a lien on his house. $400K would be pretty nice lien.

Not sure what you mean by put a lien on his house. Lsu not yet a creditor and cannot just 'pit a lien' Even if lsu gets a judgment, Can't do it in Texas. All kinds of property exempt from satisfying judgments including residence. But Chavis has enough assets that lsu could find something to get to (assuming atm doesn't have to pony up the 400k)
