Chavis going nowhere...he's got a great gig: big money, great talent, total control of Defense, and job security.
That sounds familiar.
Only problem for you guys is that LSU isn't the Alma Mater.

Chavis is worth every penny he is paid. Hope he is here for a while...

yep, stud/krag deserve no blame. nor miles either.
WTF do you want them to do? It wasn't like we ran the same play over and over. We also threw the ball quite a bit.
Watch the OL try to fricking block. We have guys that didn't even try to hit anyone on plays. There was plays where they got thrown around. UF doesn't even have the best defensive talent up front either.
There is also no excuse on the WR's part for having all the drops this season.
The coaches have shown multiple looks in multiple games and there is a lot of things that they had to abandon because it was unsuccessful due to player execution.
I agree play calling has been a problem in the past, but just catching the easy ones and not missing blocking assignments would improve our offense dramatically.
It is easy to always blame the coach, but come on now. What the frick can they do to fricking fix these basic problems easily at this point. I think if the WRs would catch the ball the coaches could probably do some things to help with the OL.

it took 3 years for chavis to get his defense where he wanted. It could take longer at other schools. Chavis has a great job and id bet we would pay to keep him.

Les knows all these generalizations. What he doesn't know is how to takes his hands off the offense.

What you're saying only makes sense in the context of attrition.
Other than that, we have the same problems as last year and the year before that. There is a reason for that - coaching.

Player development- a coaching responsibility

why the frick would Chavis leave? He's pulling down a cool 1 mil per year. His value to the team is quite evident. With this grade school offense, his value will only soar.

So he can win another ring.

Chavis just signed a three year contract that will pay him almost $4mm dollars total
He isn't going anywhere

Job security, where else can coordinators get a free pass?
Posted on 10/7/12 at 1:03 pm to CountryVolFan
please
Career offensive coordinators don't hopscotch jobs when they're making the kind of cake he's making, to "get another ring". LSU lost one game; they're still a major player in this yr's NC picture.

There are plenty of other teams that can pay that and more.
Shoot, we paid Monty $2 Mil.

The same thing happened to him at UT and he went down with the ship. I doubt that happens again. He's turned down UGA, Texas and Tennessee for more money each time.
If it doesn't look like a place he can win, he should leave.

How could a man who makes millions of dollars to coach one of college football's elite programs be so damn blind, or is it ignorance. We have been down this road before, and it is happening again. Our qb has no field vision, is highly inaccurate and moves/runs like a grandma of 80 years of age. Wake up les and pull your head out of your "hat"!

TigerJeff...do you really think we'll be in the NC hunt with the way we've played? Its not like our play against UF was an anomoly...that's the 3rd straight lackluster performance (you can discount those cake wins early on). Something would have to cause a complete offensive turnaround...and I don't know what that could possibly be.

Well then, he's the perfect one to sit Miles down, and explain what an Offensive Coordinator does...and that Pink slips make the world go round if they don't perform.

He can't win at LSU?

Plus it is easy to recruit. What other college can offer as much playing time on defense as we do? It's like 18 games of minutes in a 12 game schedule.
