Chavis needs to have a sit down with Les Because this offense is killing the defense (ala 2010)

Post of the season thus far! It should be a "no-consequences" conversation. That is, let Chavis speak the truth about our offense, without the fear of recriminations from ANYONE.

I keep hoping that Miles really knows what's wrong and realizes it can't be changed...talent restrictions, injuries, whatever. But some of those glaring "Jefferson-esque" stares he gives, suggests otherwise, like the one in the BCS games last year.Saw it again yesterday.

So in the end, would it be a waste of time to let Chavis have the table? Again, I would think they've done this.

Somehow I see that blank stare from Miles when he's asked this question.

Only problem for you guys is that LSU isn't the Alma Mater

Sorry CountryVol. Dream on.

Chavis saw first hand how well the ole alma mater treats one of its own with Fulmer.

He's not a dumbass and not into unilateral loyalty either.

Face it guys. It isn't coaching or play calling we have some guys regardless of how talented they are that aren't executing in basic scenarios on the field

UMMM YEA/NO!!
our receivers need to catch more.
Coaches need to adjust to team weaknesses and strengths, really make the players mad to make them play better. Sometimes benching somebody or an insult is what is needed to light a fire under somebody we don't do that.

Exactly. Maybe Chavis can explain to Miles that you can't run against 9 people in the box. Teams are allowed to stack 9 people in the box because we never spread them out VERTICALLY.

Why can't Miles see this. Our formation's look like the 1965 packers.

I agree play calling has been a problem in the past, but just catching the easy ones and not missing blocking assignments would improve our offense dramatically.
The OL's are missing blocking assignments because their coach is coordinating the offense half the time. How about a FULL TIME OL coach there Les? OL is too important a position to have your coach splitting time. And it doesn't matter how big and strong any ONE offensive lineman is if he's not being properly coached and doesn't know his reads and blocking assignments. Playing together as a unit and knowing what the frick you're supposed to be doing on every play is a lot more important than just putting 5 "Big Guys" out there.

Forget about getting any consistent play out of freshman OL's too. Not gonna happen. That's just scraping the bottom of the barrel if you have to put a freshman OL in there. Don't care how big they are. Freshman can't handle it mentally. Speaks volumes about recruiting in that area. Maybe they can handle a few snaps against the Towson's and Idaho's of the world, but they're going to get bombed in the S.E.C..

I agree, but the problems are so bad that unless the players execute the simplest of scenarios they can't make many adjustments.

The WRs are continuously dropping balls and struggling to get open which has killed drives. Then you also have to consider that we have had to adjust for the fact our OL can't block straight up without serious help (limiting the number of guys we can send out in routes).

So as with the case when we had no talent at QB the last 4 seasons (now we have some talent) we now have the OL and WR limiting the passing game. Teams are loading the box. I guess some of it could be helped with coaching, but some of the failures are in regards to simple task.

If anything Chavis' job security is magnified by the horrible offensive production

How could a man who makes millions of dollars to coach one of college football elite programs be so damn blind, or is it ignorance. We have been down this road before, and it is happening again. Our qb has no field vision, is highly inaccurate and moves/runs like a grandma of 80 years of age. Wake up les and pull your head out of your "hat"!
