Chase Young shouldn’t be on the same stage as Burrow

For reference:
Jaylon Ferguson (La Tech, 2018) Total tackles: 65 Tackles for Loss: 26.5 Sacks: 17.5
Chase Young (Ohio St, 2019) Total tackles: 44 Tackles for Loss: 21.0. Sacks: 16.5
Young’s entire Heisman “worthy” season was straight media propaganda. In his two biggest games of the year, Michigan and Big10 championship, total of 6 tackles and 0 sacks. What a monster

That’s why he’s not winning it. If he had three sacks in each of those games, and finished with 22.5 he SHOULD win a Heisman.

If my cousin was a dinosaur...
Arguement stands.

It’s too bad for regional bias, Joe should win the heisman by the largest margin ever given his 2019 season compared to anyone else’s. Specify that because I’ve seen media bring up stats from last season. That doesn’t matter one inkling.

Lol Chase Young is a monster and you would be bitching and moaning if he played for LSU and wasn’t a Heisman finalist. I wish we had him on our defense I know that much.
You are a fricking liar if you say you wouldn’t want Young on our defense. Bold faced liar.

Frankly I couldn’t care less who else is on that stage. For the first time in 60 years an LSU player is winning the Heisman. If it’s by one vote or by all of the votes he’s still coming home with the Heisman Trophy. I never imagined I’d see an LSU player- let alone a QB win it so I’m just going to enjoy the ride

You really comparing stats of a guy who played in Conference USA to a guy thats in the Big 10?

The Heisman has a policy now of inviting at least 3 finalist. The finalists are picked in a very specific manner. Even if Joe got 100% of the first place votes, it’s likely we would have had the same finalists.

quote:
This is one of the most misunderstood parts of the Heisman process. You will often hear media or fans complain that a certain player was snubbed by not being invited to the Heisman ceremony. But the finalists are not determined arbitrarily. Starting from the understanding that there will always be a minimum of three finalists, whether or not more will be invited is determined by how close the fourth-place finisher’s point total is to that of the third place finisher’s, how close the fifth-place finisher’s is to that of the fourth-place finisher’s and so on.
quote:
In other words, the closeness of the point totals determines the final number of finalists. Where major gaps exist, that’s where you get a cutoff.

Why should he be a Heisman finalist? Because he wrecked Cincy, FAU, Miami-(Ohio), Wisconsin, and Penn St.? I would have a better argument that J.K. Dobbins should be up there. Not to mention Young was suspended for 2 games. Give me a break

Don't you think everyone knows this?
Everyone knows it's Burrow's award. We've been through this, you can't invite just one guy to the damn Heisman ceremony.

There is a world of difference between “I wish he was on our defense” and “he deserves to be the first defensive player to win the heisman in over 20 years”.
You’re fricking liar if you say you can’t see the difference between those two positions. Bold faced liar.

Don’t tell that to Joel Klatt. He was on twitter complaining about an arbitrary number of finalists

Considering he was completely neutralized in the conference games that mattered it is certainly a fair comparison. He was only dominant against the teams that were equal level to the Conf USA teams.

I have zero problem with Hurts and Fields being there. They deserve it. Again, this isn’t about him not being a good player, or that Burrow should be the only one up there. It is simply asking why is Young being considered for the trophy at all?

I never said he deserves to win it . I’m just saying he deserves to be in New York as a finalist. To say he isn’t one of the best players in college football is a lie and if played for us y’all would be saying he deserves to be there. Burrow absolutely deserves to win the award but Young is one of the best players in the country.

Chase Young numbers are very underwhelming.
He is there to fill a chair.

He had 11.5 sacks in conference play. Stop being a homer and acting like the guy isn't elite. He'll be the 1st or 2nd guy picked in the draft.

Does it even matter who's up there? They're all there to witness Joe get the Heisman.

If an LSU player had 21 TFL and 16.5 sacks you would be saying he should be in NY
