re: Chase: We’re always at the jugs machine

And Again:
Chase confirms that LSU WRs were not getting required mega-reps on the Jugs machine last year.
AND, more importantly, they are getting them now... this Summer.
All the rest is nonsense noise.

So you take this...
To mean this ...
And I'm "clutching at straws?"
I take what Chase said to mean EXACTLY what he said, that LSU WRs were required to do 10,000 jug reps. Nowhere in that does it imply that they didn't touch the jugs machines last season.

We had 10,000 balls we had to catch over the summer so that's something we didn't do last year.
To mean this ...

They didn't do offseason Jugs reps last year. Period

And again:
Nothing in that post you keep copying and pasting doesn't mean anything when it comes to how many times you've changed your story on this issue.

How do you know that?

Zero required reps is what i am saying. You have info to the contrary?
Do you have info to show LSU WRs didn't use the jug machines before this season? We aren't the ones making ridiculous claims, and spamming the board with the same post 100 times. Why would we need to substantiate a wild claim that YOU are making?

How many reps were WRs getting on jug machines prior to this summer?
don't know, but it wasn't enough and now they are, according to Chase, getting a lot more than they have in the past.
quote:
But is the claim that they were getting zero reps on the jug machines?
I haven't seen anywhere that they were getting zero reps, it seems to be well known that Odell and Jarvis put in a good bit of time on their own using the machine and even having a bit of a competition with each other using the jugs machines.
quote:generally the more the better. Just like shooting 3 pointers in basketball, Is their a definitive # one needs to shoot to be elite at it? Not really but those that really put in a lot of time doing it are much better at it than those that don't. The same thing could be said for receivers working with a jugs machine, more reps is better.
What is an accurate number of jug machine reps a WR needs? Please give some research to back this claim.
quote:research that practicing something makes one better at something? I think that has been known since the dawn of man. Do you really need research to believe that practicing makes one better at something? How about the saying "practice makes perfect"? It is just about bringing out the best in ones self. It doesn't mean you will be the best around or better at it than this or that individual person, but it does mean than you will be better at it than you would have been if you hadn't put in the work. That I have to explain this simple concept is baffling.
Please give some research to back this claim.
quote:No
Is the concept of elite level athletes putting in extra work foreign to some of you?
quote:probably
If LSU was requiring WRs to do 5,000 reps when Beckham was there it's possible he would have done extra reps.
quote:no doubt, he was very driven to succeed and saw the benefit of using the jugs machine in large volumes of reps.
If LSU required 10,000 reps, it's still likely he would have done extra reps.
That's it for me in this thread. Seems many of the regular posters on this board just come here to play silly word games that I personally find rediculous

Posting it over and over again in bold doesn't change that.

Then exit the thread.
We can laugh at your stupidity without you here.

We had 10,000 balls we had to catch over the summer so that's something we didn't do last year.
Chase wasn't an early enrollee.

You are also leaving out the part where I said (during the Summer) that there was some buzz (unconfirmed) that Brady/Moffitt had changed course, and the WRs were getting reps.
Link? Because three weeks before fall camp you said:
quote:
My sources tell me they're not getting a minimum of 100 reps a day.
No surprise that this got completely ignored.

of course, argument done. I don't know if you realize that there are just a bunch of posters that just like to come on here just to gang up and troll other posters. It seems to be their hobby or past time or something. Very strange people that must lead very boring lives. Good luck in your pursuit of engaging with them!

This guy is basically shitting all over Orgeron and Ensminger. Maybe you haven't read, but he's not the super fan you typically hitch your wagon to.

I like JB, I will miss him, but it will be nice that as soon as January 2020 gets here we will no longer have to hear from Jeaux anymore.

The fact that LSU receivers were dead last in the SEC in drops, and 57th of 65 Power 5 teams in drops has told the sharper knives in the drawer that LSU's WRs weren't getting near enough reps.
I remember at this time last year the coaches were bragging about the new WR coach, who was some NFL retread. They said that he was emphasizing route running over pass catching. At the time I posted on here that he was undoing all the good that the previous guy had done. I don’t remember his name either, but he was making them catch balls with one arm on either side of the goal posts.
I would bet that they were underutilizing the Jugs machine - not that they didn’t have enough machines, though.

That would have been Mickey Joseph I believe.

quote:These are the Debbie Downers of LSU football. Every program has them. But these Bashers will be slinking further and further into the woodwork as Orgeron's team excels throughout the 2019 season. I expect to see great things from this WR room in '19.

Enjoy the season, Boxcar!
BTW, Boxcar... how about a football forum on Tiger Droppings that was for POSITIVE comments only? That would be a breath of fresh air!

I would say this is likely. Ree becomes very unhinged when things don't go his way. He also becomes pretty unhinged when things go his way.
