She is quick to call out the “haters” when the offense has a good drive.

On nights like last night though, she gets very defensive and gets into twitter wars with people. Even Ensmingers son was getting into it with fans.

She loves to dish it but cant take any type of criticism.

That is hilarious. How do you people know this stuff?

Charlie, last night, was critical of how our coaches do in player development especially the O line, QB, and receivers. He said our two RB's "are what they are." He said they were all (not RBs) regressing instead of getting better. I thought that was a strong criticism of our offense. He also criticized many first down playcalls and NOT going for a FG when we were ahead 24-10.

I thought his observations, though critical, were rational and not spoken hysterically.

Sounds fair. That is why I started this thread. When my buddy told me that Charlie wasn't being critical of the offense it kind of shocked me. I have always thought Charlie was pretty straight forward and honest in his commentary on the team. But like I said I wasn't able to listen to the post game last night and I was wondering what others thought about it.

All the kids playing D line for Bama and LSU were recruited by BOTH schools and could have gone to EITHER.

False. Absurdly, ridiculously false. Bama gets first pick, and we fight with a few other schools for the rest. There are sone exceptions like Rashad Lawrence, Leonard Fournette, Fulton. Also, because of depth issues we end up playing guys as freshmen and sophomores, whereas Bama plays the same guys as juniors or seniors.

104.5 is too close to Ensminger in many ways

Maybe Charles is just tired of discussing the same old issues with LSU since 2099.
Other than these offensive issues are worse than any back to 2009 and LSU has had 2 of it's Top 5 scoring offenses since then, yep.

True. It's pretty comical listening to Gordy. They have no credibility with this regime bc of family ties

i think a lot of what you guys are talking about with Charles has to do with the fact that he's so blah by the time his show goes on the air following the game. What I think it is, is that he's already been on the air for an hour doing the scoreboard show, and has talked about the LSU game already, and has already let all the steam out. Not like previous years when he had an hour or so post game to let it all build up, and he'd go off once his show would start.

Charlie is no sunshine pumper, he just does a pretty even keel, rational analysis IMO, which doesn’t please rabid fan base who wants blood. What I heard last night, was a guy pointing out flaws, but not doing it in an emotional manner.

Gordy on the other hand, is a full-on apologist. He had the gall to say there was no issue with the scheme against Bama this past week. And he is training Hester to be the same type of bootlicker.

No, what I described earlier was Charlie on the ESPN 104.5 postgame show, before the 98.1 Gameday switchover. He has become more of an apologist for O and especially Ensminger over the last 2 weeks than I have ever heard him do for anyone. Seriously if you can listen to the 104.5 postgame from Alabama...it was so discouraging to hear the one guy who calls it like it is, go in the tank and basically defend that abomination of a performance based only on talent on the lines, and shout down anyone critical of O or Ensminger's plan. And the same was true to an extent last night about the offensive woes. To hear that Ensminger's family ties to 104.5 (we already know O's) makes sense, but it's getting to be like listening to North Korean radio stations talk about their own government. I thought Hanagriff would stay above that fray but it seems something has changed.

Former players never make waves. Why should they? They're there to prop up their program and get arse-kissed.

It's Hanagriff's and Moscona's job to make waves.

I get it, but he is more than just a former player in his current position. I would never expect someone like him to go even halfway to scorched earth. It just struck me that he couldn’t even say the coaching staff had some significant culpability in the embarassing loss to Bama.

Some former players will tell it exactly how they see it (e.g. Marcus Spears, Booger McFarland).

Gordy is married to E's niece. Not much conflict of interest. Plus Steve doesn't do any type of media. And Gordy works for LSU in addition to Guaranty Broadcasting so he isn't going to say anything bad about any of the coaches.

Actually no, we aren't allowed to follow Charles. He has a sheriff's deputy that stays with him all during the day. So you are only allowed to approach him if the deputy allows you to do so. Then he normally will only speak with the public in 10 minute intervals. SOme topics are off limits but he will decide that on a case by case basis.

It's always a privilege to get to speak with Charles!

It may be that change is coming and he knows it and sees no need to pile on as we still did better than expected. IMO

This is true. On Hanging with Hester last Monday, Hester was reading questions from the Huddle. Every question was about poor offense performance and who would be the new coordinator if we got rid of E. It was comical because as Hester read the questions, neither he nor Gordy would attempt to answer any of them.

Sad part is that just about every person at that station is in bed with LSU in some form or fashion so you can't rely on them to call LSU out. For as much as I do not like Moscona, he was the only one last week who specifically said the offense needs to change because you will never beat Bama with the basic crap we are running.
