he is one of the best open field tackling cbs we have had in lsu history.
in 2016 he had 1 less solo tackle than Beckwith. this year Dwhite had 6 more solo tackles than DJ.

I wish him well. He is a straight line guy and lack the hips but makes up for it with his speed. Definitely a good tackler that was solid for LSU.

He is undersized and we all saw many times how bad of a tackler he is
2016
Beckwith solo tackles= 33
Jackson = 32 4th on the team
2017
White solo tackles= 37
Jackson= 30
Jackson is one of the best open field tackling cbs we have ever had

unless you see the all 22 film you have no fricking clue what his hips look like. why do posters on here just spout shite theyve heard some people say about football.

Strengths
Brings elite athleticism and speed to the field each game. May be the fastest player in this year's draft. All the make-up speed you need. Loose and fluid with super-twitch. Smooth backpedal with very little wasted motion in transitions. Plus body control to handle tight or off coverage. Electric in click and close to the football. Closing burst increases ball production. Has traits and cover ability to play outside or in slot. Closes out separation from breaks very quickly. Has ability to bait quarterbacks into interceptions. Takes steep pursuit angles and can beat running backs to the corner. Learned under former LSU defensive backs Jalen Mills, Jamal Adams and Tre'Davious White.
cbs with bad hips cant play inside

I don't expect simpletons like you, LildickRick, to understand the difference between defending your alma mater that may require having to support a head coach and being a fan of the head coach only.
Simpletons like you only see what you want to see. You're shite stirrers and gutter punks. You are click generating bacteria to this site.

I don't need to see any film, I watched every game he played. If his hips are good then maybe it's decision making which slows him down at times.
You listed his strengths, list his weaknesses.

quote:Good lord. You just don't know. Jackson is a speed guy, very versatile, and is actually a very good tackler. He's a bit undersized but would fit perfectly into a nickle back or any zone defense.
Jackson is purely a speed guy. He is undersized and we all saw many times how bad of a tackler he is.
No way he plays well on outside against big receivers for a few years. But you do see that on teams when they lack choices.

Guice was banged up all year
Key was out of shape and half assed it for much of the year.
Key and Jackson are being drafted on potential. Not like they killed it for us last year.

He’s a very fluid athlete with loose hips, excellent ankle flexion and instant acceleration. Befitting a sprinter, Jackson possesses exceptional body control at full speed, but he’s not a straight-line athlete at all.

Jackson has great speed and seems actually fluid in the hips to me.
His biggest weakness to me is lack of ball skills. He doesn't have great hands and has lost the ball in the air on occasion. Additionally, he is slightly undersized so bigger receivers can out-muscle him and get out of jams a bit easier than you'd like.
He's always stride for stride with his man though and that is 90% of being a CB IMO. The QB sees the WR as covered if you're on his hip constantly and checks down to other options.

He’ll be one of the 5 fastest players in the draft.
Great makeup speed
Good inside cover guy
Poor ball skills
Bad tackler
Slight frame
I think late 1st early 2nd

Guice & Key player injured all year and oh yea let’s throw in Lawrence too who was one of our 5 best players. Talking out of your arse
Posted on 2/15/18 at 11:41 am to Lester Earl
So at first it was lack of talent, now it's injuries. I like the strategy, start out with general excuses, then whittle them down as necessary.
