I understand that, but this guy was convinced that Holden was planning on ording a mandatory evacuation around 2PM today. CNN was actually questioning why BR not was evacuated to begin with.

With that aside I know BR is getting hit pretty hard I hope everybody is safe.

The networks must send the worst of the worst,at least at first. Last night on MSNBC some gal on in New Orleans holding an umbrella was talking about how "excited she was to get to do her first hurricane !"

i know, i wasnt trying to prove you wrong. its amazing how dramatic/ignorant all of these reporters are. CNN especially. its almost like they want louisiana to get wiped out so they can get better ratings. oh wait... thats exactly what they want.

Anderson Cooper was reporting earlier that leaks in the levee were allowing water to flow into the LOWER 9th ward

LINK

The truth was there were no leaks and the over topping was not on the lower 9th ward side of the canal.

I'm glad there is no real concern for confirming informaiton before immediately broadcasting.

We did play after Katrina...10 days later and 1500 miles away! Katrina didn't hit BR either.

My dad talked to Dj Mccarthey on the phone after the game Saturday and there was consideration to play in Shreveport. That was when the hurricane looked like a potential Cat 5, so I think it's safe to say that we will play in br on Saturday.

I would bet money LSU is NOT playing in tiger stadium on saturday. They'll postpone to the common open date in november.

I just saw on the news that LSU "plans" to play this coming weekend. I don't guess that it is definite until they can do a review of the damage, but it sounds positive to me.

Saints also plan to play since there was no damage to the Superdome.

Well according to the idiot on CNN broadcasting from BR, they are planning on evacuating the entire city. This guy was extremely uninformed and did not have a clue what he was talking about. He made the statement, if this city gets 4 or 5 inches of rain the mayor will have to evacuate the entire city.

How do these reporters keep their jobs with statements like that?

I totally agree with you. He kept refering to 'storm surge' from the river in Baton Rouge! The guy doesn't even know the meaning of storm surge. He kept saying that evacuation orders weren't ordered for BR for flooding seeming to insinuate that there should have been . Does he think BR is on the coast or something? What an idiot.

I would rather play at Troy than postpone.
We need our open dates later in the season.
No way we have a game in BR with all the trees and power out.

They just said on the news that LSU has it's own power plant, so hopefully they can get the campus cleaned up and power back online quickly.
I'm flying in from L.A. for the game, so I hope it comes together.

I would think chances are no better than 50-50 that we play in TS this weekend. Too much cleanup in BR and surrounding areas I suspect.
We'll have a lot better idea in 24 hrs. KC.

The game will be played. There are 4 days till Saturday/Game day. That is a lot of time to get electricity back and to clear up the majority of the trees and mess. Its not like the campus needs to back to normal shape. This game is very important for the season. NT and ASU do not provide the challenge we need prior to Auburn, plus we need 3 games versus 2 prior to Auburn.

We'll play.

Our report said that 95% of BR was without power. That will take a while to resolve. It will be hard to house the guests without Air, etc. I hope they play, but so many streets like Highland are full of tree limbs, etc. It will take an all out effort to get it done.
