If they offer enough money he is crazy not to go and I would wish him the best. Injuries are a possibility and if he comes I am sure that a mega-million $$$ insurance policy will be written,

I don't know who is in charge of it but he should work one day at a car dealership and recieve a hummer for his efforts of the day.

Yes, of course. That's why the older QB kept the starting job all last season despite our offensive woes . . . right?

Question: since he has enrolled only part time so far, has his 5 year eligibility clock started yet?

I know it starts the day you enroll whether you actually show up or play or not (like what happened with Josh Booty in '97), but I don't know if it has to be full-time enrollment. The only reason I think it might make a difference is because I think you have to enroll full time to be eligible to play.

His clock has not started yet. Your eligibility begins when you enroll full time in a semester, as he would come fall.

A student-athlete shall complete his or her seasons of participation within five calendar years from the beginning of the semester or quarter in which the student-athlete first registered for a minimum full-time program of studies in a collegiate institution

90% And he knows he won't be the starting QB for the first two or three years. He's probably focusing on being a starter in baseball.

Nobody in this thread or anywhere else has any idea what Zach is gonna do. This probably includes Zach as well.

What percentage do you give him coming to LSU this fall rather than go to the Dodgers? Being picked in the first round has got to be an awfully tempting proposition for a kid his age.

He is there now! so 100%

I know I'm repeating the same info, but I was told this weekend by an insider that assist the LSU fball team with edu, that he has turned down the initial 2 million dollar signing bonus. He doesnt expect an additional offer high enough to leave LSU. He's taking summer classes and working primarily on football. Generally, if you were expecting to play a particular sport in the next month or two, you would be practicing it. Right now, its all football.

Reality is that even if he comes and does well, most championships are not won with superstar QB's....they are won with great teams. Too much is expected I suppose from a star player such as Peyton Manning at Tennessee. Of course, Tebow comes to mind as well, but he was just a totally different animal. Bottom line is that to win championships you need a great defense, adequate special teams, and an adequate offense that doesn't make mistakes.

This is overblown into the myth that the two are somehow mutually exclusive. Tebow, Young, Leinart, Dorsey; these were all superstar QBs who won championships just like Krenzel, Tee Martin, Mauck, Flynn, etc. Great teams are made up of great players. Whether one of those great players happens to be a great QB or not is not a significant determinant in whether a team is championship-worthy. The notion that superstar QBs are somehow less capable of winning championships is purely a misconception based on the fact that hey are usually characterized as superstar QBs because they keep making big plays; which often they only have to do because they are having to take up the slack for an incomplete or unbalanced team.

The ONLY way I see this kid coming to LSU is if he is a TRUST FUND BABY and he is already LOADED with $$$$$$$$$!!!! I don't know if he is or isn't, but IF NOT then his mom, dad, coaches, friends, relatives, LSU FANS, and anybody elese BETTER be telling this kid TAKE THE $$$$$$$$$ and we will see you at LSU in 5 years if you are not in the Majors!!! Zach is ONE SNAP away from working in a Chemical Plant the rest of his life. It's selfish and BS to even expect this kid to come to LSU!!!!

JOSH BOOTY JOSH BOOTY JOSH BOOTY

And spare me the HE IS ALREADY ENROLLED crap.
We will all know in 9 days or less
