how many schools can claim more NBA top 50 players than LSU? 0.

how many schools have been to more Final 4's than LSU? A handful.

To call LSU's basketball program over the last 50 years is naive and idiotic. Sure we haven't won a championship, not weak? Nah.

LSU has a pretty rich basketball history with lots of great players. Maravich, Pettit, O'Neal, Macklin, Carter, Jackson, Davis....

I guess our definition of "Lots" is different. I give you Petit, Maravich, O'Neal, Carter, Jackson, & Macklin. No doubt elite players. But that is close to where it stops. Sure guys like Davis, Bass, Taz, Henderson, Blanton, etc will go down as good players, but great? Forget about the Final four appearances. How many National Titles have they won. Dominant programs should have won multiple National Titles. LSU cannot claim to be a dominant college basketball program.

no one said LSU is a domiant program. Rich history with alot of damn good players... Plus I bet LSU has a lot of guys who will turn out to be better pros than say Hansbrough. Just because the media tells us a guy is great doesn't make it so...

it better not be. he's a very good defensive player but he's not a complete player. his offensive game is not on the level to have it retired.

now, if he'd play more 4 or 5, he would've had an argument, but he can't make big buckets when we need them. this team is not completely untalented, they're in every game. blame whoever you want, but if they'd be winning, tasmin would be an unquestioned leader and great player.

garret temple needs his number retired before tasmin. but i love tasmin, glad to have watched him for the last 12 years he played at lsu.

I understand the love for Temple. But why would Temples number be before Taz??

They were both 5 year players that both played in the final four, yet Taz had better numbers. Not sure I agree with Temple being ahead of Taz. Not putting Temple down though, dude was a VERY important piece to our final four run. But Taz was more important to the team last year that temple by far.

0% chance. based on the jerseys hanging, Tas would have to make 1st team All-America this year to be deserving. If you retire Tas then you have to talk about guys like Maurice Carter and Ricky Blanton. Very Good LSU players, just not in the same breath as Pettit, O'Neal, Maravich, and Macklin.

I think Taz and Lamont Roland's jersey should be retired.

I think after coming back this year, and given his incredibly hard effort on the court and team play, I think his jersey needs to be retired. I say 60% it will be retired.
I agree. If he hadn't returned, LSU might not have won a conference game.

All I will say is that he has never been the best player on a good team. This is the only year he's been here where he is arguably the best player. This is also the worst team LSU has fielded in over 10 years, so that doesn't say much.

Tasmin's a solid all-around player, but he's not great at any aspect of the game.

As for players I'd put ahead of him:

Glen Davis
Chris Jackson
Rudy Macklin
Tyrus Thomas
Stromile Swift
Howard Carter
Brandon Bass
Ronald Dupree
Darrell Mitchell
JuMicheal Young

Just to name a few.
