if there were 3 and 4 people on him, then why didn't his teammates just take open shots all night?

Because there was literally only one other guy on the team who could hit a shot.

I'd just think some others would be considered before Taz

Yeah, I would probably give the nod to Ronald Dupree, Glenn Davis then possibly Howard Carter and possibly Ronnie Henderson. There would not be a real long line, but certainly 10 or so players merit consideration.

No question...I like Tasmin, he is a a good player, but, if he were to get his jersey retired, I can name at least another 15-20 players who are more deserving...just not appropriate...

I love Taz, but if we're retiring jerseys, I nominate Garrett Temple for shutting down Reddick in the tourney when we beat Duke.

There is a slight chance and here is the scenerio. TAZ averages a triple double with 30 pts. 13 boards and 12 assists per game to lead the Tigers to 5 straight victories before the SEC tourney. He then gets national attention after the Tigers capture the SEC tourney championship in stunning fashion. The media are watching this unbelievable guy from D.S. High School named Tazmin Mitchell average a triple double as he leads the Tigers to their first modern day NCAA basketball championship. So I'm telling you there's a chance. A one in a trillion chance, but a chance.

yall dont think they'll retire his jersey? He only needs about 105 more points for 2,000. Something only Maravich and Macklin have reached.

First...Taz won't have his jersey retired. But, you are right it is hard to list 10 players more deserving. To me, this only proves how weak LSU basketball has been.

It's a damn shame that they havent retired Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf's jersey yet! It shouldnt matter what he did in his personal life that "offended" so many. He was one of the greatest college players of all time.

Do you think LSU has been a basketball powerhouse in the last 50 year?

If you don't think LSU has been weak....why is it hard to come up with 10 more deserving people that should have their jerseys hung. Its not because Taz is so dominant.

If Tasmin played at Kentucky, Duke, UNC, UCLA, Indiana, Syracuse, Georgetown, ETC, ETC....Would he be even in their top 10 discussion. Come on goof ball. Take the purple and gold glasses off.

What I find humorous is that his last year at Denham Collis Sr

Collis Sr. says alot of strange things. I remember during the coaching search he took it upon himself to be spokesman for LSU, mostly because I think no one else would talk to reporters.

And he said "unless LSU hires Johnny Jones or Butch it will set the program back years." WTF...that was one of the most asinine things I've ever heard.

It was just the opposite. Had they hired either of those guys it would have set the program back years. Guy just likes to hear himself talk and doesn't really think before he does. Kinda like his old coach.

As for Taz I would have on problem with him having his jersey retired. Third leading scorer all time and Top 10 all time in points, assists and boards, having played a prominent role on two overall SEC titles and a Final Four.

But I don't think it will happen.
