I feel really good about this game and am cautiously optimistic but I am starting to become a nervous wreck as gameday gets closer, just because of the game's magnitude. If we happen to lose this weekend, I see our chances of getting to ATL dropping significantly (hopig I'm wrong). I do not see AUB losing 2 more based on their schedule.

Has anybody done some analysis on if we still have a pretty decent shot at the winning the West with a loss this weekend?

About none. I guess they could slip up at Ole Miss or Georgia then lose to Alabama, but it'll likely be only one loss to Alabama.

Even if it is 2, we would have to win out. If LSU, Bama, and AU all had 2 losses, Bama likely goes (loss to East team).

This does not help...we would be tied with Auburn and they go on head-to-head.

What the hell is wrong with all of you??? I watch LSU football because I love LSU football. If you watch for and expect championships, you are not going to have a fun time watching any team. Why would you get nervous about a game that you're not playing in?? Too much ego identification with your favorite team, methinks

I really think this is the game that will decide the West. Both teams games against Bama willl play a role to, but this is the biggy. I really think if we win this weekend we are in! It wont be locked, but Id put my money on us if we win this weekend.

Tell me how I'm wrong. There are 5 more regular season games, and a SEC championship game before LSU can even think about a championship. LSU/Auburn will be exciting enough without me needing to put all of my national championship dreams on this game. I really try to live in the here and now as much as possible. Its alarming how often people try to live in the future or past. If you spend all season thinking about a championship, it wont be as sweet when you win one. WE all have envisionments of how things should be but they NEVER happen like we thought they would so just enjoy the damn games without peeing your pans over NC hopes....jeez

Nobody was talking about the NC or even winning the SEC championship...just talking about making it to the SEC Championship game (which is the goal for every team in the SEC from day one). I don't know about you but LSU football is not 'entertainment' to me, no matter how hard I try. I wish it would be different, cuz God knows several years have been shaved off my life span watching LSU games over the past few years.

Come on man, you telling me its been entertaining all those years watching the "Aints" lose and never come close to the Superbowl. Now we taste victory with the Saints and expect it just like the Tigers, we know if we win the SEC we will most likely play for the National Championship So yeah I get nervous because one loss is crucial in having a good season or great season. No matter what I will continue watching and support my Tigers to the end.

I think 75%. We beat Bama and Arky and Auburn will lose to Bama.

At this point, if we are going to be a one-loss SEC rep in the SECCG, I think losing to Ole Miss or Arky is the only way that's going to happen. That way, we'd still hold tiebreakers over Auburn, Bama would have 2+ losses and Arky would already have 2+ as well.

I think, just randomly, that if LSU beats Auburn and Bama, we'd only have to win one of the Ole Miss/Arky duo to win the West. We could head into our game with Arky with nothing on the line except an undefeated record.

I bet that you believe this to be an intelligent retort on your part. I'm just trying to say enjoy the ride, without thinking about the rest. But while we are on the subject of women and playboy.... I'm the kind of dude that makes sex better because I enjoy the entire process. I like to let good things stay around. I dont think about the money shot (championship) the entire time.
