Idk, hopefully at least the entire 4th.

One thing I will predict though is we don't look any more dynamic this week than we did vs BYU (because of the opponent) and the rant melts.

I think breenan should get a few drives to work on his passing

They are breaking in a new offense under a new OC. They want DE to get as many live game snaps as possible.

If they plan on using Brennan this season then I would hope they redshirt LN. Give him a year to fully recover and a year of eligibility after Brennan leaves/graduates.

I think it's more important for now that we get Danny rolling and more familiar with the offense. We can get Brennan some action down the stretch. Even if not, I'd rather give Danny the reps now and hope Brennan can pick it up in camp next year. We need Danny to be fully familiar By the time we're in the heavy part of the schedule.

Guys, DE already has taken enough reps in meaningful games last year. It doesn't get more real from one year to the next. He is a seasoned QB. He has also been the starting QB and getting the majority of reps in the 43 practices between the spring and fall camps. He knows the offense by now. Each QB gets the weekly game plan at the same time every week and DE still takes the majority of snaps in game prep. So taking extra game reps against Chatt would only expose him to unnecessary and possible injury. While Brennan on the other hand, as the primary #2 QB needs all the reps he can get in game situations because as we all know, especially after seeing what happened this weekend in college football, he is one play away from being our starter. If the game is already decided by halftime MB should play the entire second half. On another note, why put in LN and burn both freshman QB redshirts when you don't have to. If Etling ever gets dinged up then you activate LN. Just seems reasonable.

All 3 should play if O plans to play Narcisse at some point this year.

The never ending fascination with the backup QB on this board is tiresome. Etling needs the bulk of the live reps considering we have a new system. I don't care how easy the players and coaches say it is, game reps are invaluable.

Why burn another redshirt? Then they should not have played Brennan. Just go with DE and JM until circumstances dictate playing either of your freshman. But as I understand it Brennans RS is gone. Why burn LN? They are both great so why burn them both in the same year instead of staggering their RS to keep them eligible as long as possible?

Yep there's absolutely no reason to burn LN's redshirt if Brennan is the guy going forward. Give Narcisse a year and quite possibly 2 after Brennan's gone by redshirting him now.

I'll guess entire 4th, but we're still getting Etling reps in the new offense coming out of the half.

If we score every drive - I'd like Danny to come out after the first drive of the second half. That feels about right.

But, honestly, I hope we don't have to use any more of the offense than we've already seen. Maybe work on 1 or 2 more wrinkles and maybe a couple of pass first options, but that's it.

Doesn't matter how many garbage time reps the backups get. If we have to resort to them the season is probably lost.

Well - they say he's a sponge - a future coach is how he's being talked about, versus an NFL career. This doesn't surprise me.
