I think this is the problem with our team this year. Go back and watch Chad Jones returning the punt, great play for LSU changed the game. Thats not the problem though. Watch the LSU sidelines as Jones breaks tackles and gets into open field. The sideline shows no emotion besides like 2 guys jumping up and down. After big plays on defense our team shows no emotion. Only person I've seen show emotion on a consistent basis is Patrick Peterson.

If you go back to 2007 when LSU won the National Championship almost every play there was emotion. If Glen Dorsey got in the back field and even pressured he started jumping around. When Jackson intercepted the ball against Ohio St. the entire sideline and Pelini were running down the sideline.

Our team shows no emotion and it changes the games for the players and the fans.

Les said they were going to divvy up PP's enthusiasm so that the entire team has a little instead of PP having it all

I definitely think that's a major factor.

College football is so strange to analyse, difficult to predict how well a bunch of 18-22 yr/old males will work together, and how cohesive of a group they can foster...

you forgot to mention the constant emotion we showed last year, especially during the florida game with the big hits we made after we gave up 30 yard passes, and the people on the sidelines jumping up and down, it worked real well last year

I honestly kind of see this as a reflection of Miles. Doesn't get too excited about much of anything... Except for 2007 vs AUB, but who couldn't get pumped for that.

Les will get mad OCCASIONALLY but not too often.

I too wish the players would show more emotion. Thats an important part of the game IMO.

What about Jai? He used to be a major emotional sparkplug.

Notice the emotion is coming from those who DON'T already have a NC ring that they can forever brag about.

I mean, once you've accomplished that, you've achieved it all.

It's like getting a degree. One is all you really need. Sure, another would be better, but is it really worth the effort?

That, I believe, is a big reason for the perceived lack of leadership on this team. I'm still not sure if that lack of leadership is just perceived, or if it is actual.

Stay tuned.

Not a bad point. Its probably tough to get pumped to play teams of this low caliber. We'll see if they're fired up this weekend.

I agree its a reflection of the coach. Even when a player does something wrong I've never seen him just get in somebodies face about it. He just walks over to them and talks about it and walks away.

From what I've seen or can remember Pelini and Muschamp were some of the best coaches to fire players up and get them into the game.

Though I kind of think the jumping up and down pre game thing all the teams are doing now is kinda gay really doesnt do much IMO.

Great punt return broke tackles changed the game...and nobody showed any emotion...theres a time you show emotion and theres a time you dont...if you dont think that the punt return was a time to show it then IDK a play that would get them pumped up

honestly, I know what you mean, Chad Jones also made another huge play when he batted down that should have been TD pass, and not one LSU defender ran up to him and congratulated him, something is wrong with that.

I am not buying all this enthusiasm and fire crap. Sorry! I think this "fire" garbage is all just people looking for players that are not acting all fired up and screaming. You just can't do that as a player for the entire game and still be ready to go when your its your time to get on the field you would be all worn out.

I am not saying that players should get pumped I am saying the game last for 3 hours and when a team is struggling people point out this kind of intangible stuff, an assertion that could be made on any team in the country and you could produce video too.
