2 Sophs and 2 Fresh. Let me know how that works out for ya in the SEC.

That's a good point. Alabama had a RSSoph at QB and did finish 2nd in the SECW last year.

You cant honestly be comparing A&M's Defensive Talent, Offensive Line, Running Backs and Coaching staff to Alabama....can you??? If so, you're A LOT dumber than I thought.

No, where did I say anything about any of those things?

Why don't you try reading the whole thread instead of waiting to pounce for a change? Someone asked the Aggie who they would have to replace Tanneyhill and all he said was they have 4 talented potential replacements. He also repeatedly said that he doesn't think they will win the SEC W or beat LSU, just that they won;t be a pushover.

FWIW, Matt Davis will be the QB of the future, just don't think he does it this year.

At 6'3, 210 lbs. and running a 4.5, I think he has a bright future once he gets the offense down.

As for next year, I think it will be Showers or Manziel. Both have high ceilings but are green, very green. I expect growing pains.

To me, you saying
quote:

implied that you didnt see any merit to the Sophomore QB issue that I brought up.

No big deal, just another example of not understanding someone's tone on a message board.

A & M lost a pretty good quarterback but their main problem last year was a lack of defensive depth. I don't see any real change there. In the SEC you will get beat up a little more each game and as the season goes on, your depth becomes very important. I could see A & M upsetting Florida, who they play early, but not LSU.

Now,I think we're going to prove everyone wrong, but I'm not going to be surprised when the magazines come out in late May if we don't get pushed further down in the 6 to 10 group.

I can't see any reputable publication putting LSU any further down than the 2 to 5 group.

Too much talent to pre-season rank any lower.

CFN is probably a touch above Bleacher Report level. They have (or had) some pretty talented writers back when they were their own site. Then they sold out to Scout.com and turned into yet another mouthpiece for whatever hit-generating media splash story du jour happens to be trending. Scout figures they generate zero buzz picking LSU to go undefeated because most people expect that. So they pick us to lose some absurd upsets hoping to push some LSU fan's buttons enough to make him start a 3+ page thread on a message board where a few hundred more people will see (and hopefully click) the link to the story. More clicks = more ad revenue.

I'd be willing to bet that whatever their prediction is for SC this season, it varies significantly from the "conventional wisdom" (my guess is they pick them worse than expected, because so many people are high on SC this year).

Any preview magazine that comes out this early is worthless.

Come to think of it, all preseason predictions are totally worthless.

The problem isn't the predictions, its the way people react to them. No predictions will be 100% accurate, but most fanbases take it too personal.

This exactly

LSU will roll A&M. No doubt. We r going to have a lot better team than we did when we steam rolled A&M and I think A&M will be on the level of that year at best. Young QB stepping in to sec play.... See J. Lee

Let there be no mistake, I have nothing but the deepest disdain for TAMU, its accursed sunblasted campus forgotten by God and all things green, its mustacheoed coeds, its homoerotic cadets who prance around like they are product testing Adam & Eve's most recent vibrating anal beads, its dead dogs, its Hellen Keller inspired semaphores that subsititute for real cheers, and the remainder of its risible traditions. Who the frick needs to practice yelling? Undeserving faux SEC embarrassments.

We have the best dual threat QB to come out that state since VY at WR..............good luck with that.

The best dual threat QB from Tejas since Vince Young that this coaching staff just so happened to deem a WR despite the fact that they really didn't have anyone better at QB on the team.

Cue the "just let it rest, man. RS wanted to be a WR," and "my girlfriend's FUPA can throw longer/more accurate than RS."
