Look up the QBs on these teams. Penn State is 27. 27! Anyone here think that Etling is anywhere near as good as McSorely?

I think Canada did a great job as OC this year. Best at LSU in many years based on what he had to work with.

Only because it was this year and he didn't have to face Rashard Lawrence and Breiden Fehoko. Not to mention Ed Alexander, Glen Logan and Devin White.

It will suck BIG TIME next year for offenses having to square off against Eaux's defensive line.

If they choose otherwise Greedy will have more interceptions than, I don't even know what to say, he will have A LOT.

These kinds of rankings aren’t very meaningful to me in CFB. Doesn’t account for the defences being played against in conferences like the Big 12.

At least in the NFL there are WAY fewer teams and more games, so these overall unit rankings are more representative of reality.

His offense was fine and would have been better if he had a QB worth anything. But his overall rankings are low, so people are using that to justify his firing...

I heard the same thing from O pumpers all year long - O gets a pass because Danny was limited physically, Guice was hurt most of the year, we started 2 freshman on the Oline.

Why does this same reasoning not apply to the coach that actually calls plays?

I think that if he could have ran tempo like he wanted to (couldn’t because both lines were depleted) AND if kickers don’t suck, we prolly average 9 more points a game. Doesn’t sound like a lot but it puts us in the mid to upper 30’s

ETA it would put us at 35.5ppg and ranked 15th nationally

I think Aranda’s defense will be nasty next year and Os DLine will be once again a strength of the team.

Idk what that has to do with the OP’s post thought.

If O would have coached a position group then we could’ve actually had a ST coach....

This is a legitimate criticism, but it is what is available. The point is that with a good QB and despite a below average receiving group, LSU would be in the top 10 right now. If Etling makes some or maybe even one of the long throws against the Gumps (and not give them a short field with that idiotic interception), I think LSU wins. I haven't given LSU a chance of beating 'Bama for at least 5 years now and Canada gave the Tigers that chance. Am I the only one who sees this?

Orgeron is a disaster for a HC.

Perfectly respectable, right there.

Much as I like Danny, he just was not good in the big games. Too many bad throws. Too many.

you're dead wrong. Once Bama got up by 14 early 2Q, and certainly when they got up 18 late 3Q, they knew they would win and went very conservative.

If the game was closer throughout, Bama would've opened up more.

Yes, the stats in that game looked good for us, but stats can be deceptive. That game itself was completely controlled by Bama.

Because Etling did not make throws to wide open receivers. You are wrong.
