Before UT and OU joined the SEC, LSU was scheduled to play Clemson, UGA, Bama and Florida this year

It’s incredible bad luck every-time, I must say
even ASU in a few years should be a challenge (if Coach Dilly stays there)

UGA at 11 is a joke. Their entire team came from a top 3 class at worst.

That is some phenominal scheduling by Verge.
For knowledgeable folks, yes.
Even if LSU loses this game it means very little in the push to make the playoffs,
Its 10x better than playing a rent a win, which means jack shite.

Yes it does. It removes the margin of error, which has been the issue every year with BK. Does the loss kill your season? No, but it means you have to go nearly undefeated in a tough SEC which is unlikely to happen.
10-2 vs 9-3 is usually the difference between being in the playoff and not.

Sounds like youre terrified of actual competition.
LSU losing can still easily make playoffs.

The amount of posters here that outright expect a road win vs #1 squad is unreasonable
They are #1 because of the soft ACC schedule. Ask him to do a RPI of teams and they are probably 5/6 just like us.

I’m excited bout this game. Yes it’ll be a damn diffuclt test but if we go on the road and beat mostly likely a top 3 Clemson team we’re in for a special season. This is LSU rememeber the days we would roll up in ranked teams stadiums out of conference and smash them? (West Virginia, Texas, Washington )Let’s get back to that time to break the opening day losing streak

Who tf expects LSU to win the first game? You have to expect a loss.

I used to be a big pate listener but I just got tired of it. Seems like he’s changed up too. Just so far off base.

Dabo is tied for the most national championships among active college football coaches.
Clemson has 6 projected first round picks and looks solid all around.
Is that easy enough for you to follow?
Follow this- that's losses to UGA by 4+ TDs, UT by 2 TDs, and USCe by a FG at home.

I do. In fact I actually expect LSU to win every game on the regular season schedule this fall. Considering we don’t have Georgia or Texas and the teams on our schedule don’t light the world on fire for me, I don’t see why that’s unrealistic.

how is bama ahead of LSU this year? We have a senior QB, they don't have a starter listed yet

Is there roster really #1?
don't think they have invested in NIL transfer portal, nor have they led in recruting rankings

That's honestly best case scenario for LSU.
Win and we have a road win against the number 1 team in America.
Lose and we get some grace since we lost on the road to the number 1 team in America in week one.
We should all root for Clemson to be ranked #1 week 1.

if LSU plays to its talent and Kelly has them ready,

Everyone knows Kelly uses week 1 to see what kind of team he has then adjusts instead of figuring that out in the off season.

It would be interesting to see. Last year you had three 9-3 SEC teams (Alabama, Ole Miss, South Carolina) who all had at-large arguments based upon a stronger schedule relative to a team like SMU. Would a 9-3 LSU get in over a 10-2 Big 12 or ACC school if one of those 3 losses was @ Clemson? Maybe. But I'd rather not take the chance given 10-2 looks like the "lock" number to reach to get in.
Of course, this season will probably be the only season we debate 10-2 v. 9-3, given the CFP will likely expand to 16 teams next year.
