Totally agree. It doesn't matter how nasty his slider is, he's not going to get away with throwing it 90% of the time his 2nd year through the SEC. He's got to be able to throw his fastball for strikes if for no other reason than to make them have to respect it. Right now they can too easily just sit on that slider and wait for him to leave it up just a little. If he can trust his fastball to throw it for a strike and just sprinkle it in a little more than he did last year, even though it's only 89/90, it will still be effective. And it will make his slider more effective too.
