Some of you are complete tools. The guy is just confident about his teams chances, they played a good game yesterday. In baseball anything can happen.

Wow. We've found a really wise person on the Rant. That's one. Let us continue with the field study.

Centenary is in a bit of a predicament lately. With their move to division III athletics they just lost their biggest boosters in town who have made it apparent they are done giving to Centenary. Couple that with the recent announcements that quite a few majors are being cut and Centenary has some issues on hand. It's an adequate school with lots of problems right now.

Yep, I know. But it's more than 'adequate' in terms of admissions. They still don't allow any morons to attend. That's what I liked about my experience there. Everyone was smart.

No, do the math. Grade school kids were around in 58-59 season. We listened to the radio. Didn't have TV. John Ferguson was the announcer. Great stuff.

Zach, is Centenary a Baptist institution? I had that debate last night during the game with a guy next to me.

I would have become a fan earlier, but I wasn't born. Sorry.

It's decent for some programs. I have relatives that have served as instructors there. I question what the future holds for the school after the athletics classification change. That is going to be a big blow losing some of the biggest boosters if nothing changes.

Methodist. The student body is very eclectic. I would say less than 1/2 are into any religion at all. Lots of foreign students. It's changed since I was there. More girls than boys, which is a national trend at most colleges. But it's still a beautiful small campus where you can walk anywhere and the curriculum is still liberal arts.
Of course, people here on the rant probably think 'liberal arts' = left wing.

I agree. The big mistake in athletics was when Hal Sutton's dad forced the school to equalize funding for all sports instead of concentrating everything in basketball. Then the feminists took over and athletics went down hill. That was in the late 70s and early 80s.
