Obviously. And he’s been in a college program for 3 years and it really hasn’t improved but that’s really because of how raw he was.
Nonsense. He's asked to do a lot of things in our defense. His footwork and his tackling ability are good, but what is lacking is the use of his hands when he's trying to rush the passer. Otherwise, his technical skills are pretty good, and I would argue that given that he's played football for effectively four years, his technique is great. He sets the edge, has the strength to hold off blocks, uses his length well, and has superb hip flexibility. He's also a rather disciplined player too, and his versatility in space and on the edge makes it obvious why NFL teams would pine for him. He's lacking in a few areas, notably with regards to his pass rush technique, otherwise there are aspects of his game that are great.
Given our track record with DL recently, I honestly wouldn't expect him to learn elite pass rushing technique here. We haven't had great DL coaching for a while.

Didn’t know he could leave after sophomore season.

His versatility will be coveted by 3-4 defensive teams but I'm not so sure about top 10. The thing he could improve to make himself a lot harder to block is, developing a spin move and change of direction from trying to get the edge to cutting back inside. Right now he tries to mainly get the edge and if he doesn't he's not real effective unless he can push the tackle back and collapse the pocket. With the right team and scheme he should do well in the NFL though.

He's three years out of high school. He can leave.

So two 4 stars, with one of them being a very highly rated 4 star who was a battle between LSU and Alabama. You mean those two guys with low or average expectations?

as a poster said above, it could be a Danielle Hunter type situation but Hunter was more freaky than Chaisson
Hunter was an absolute beast and very productive his last year here. He shut down his side against the run. He had 74 tackles. No dlineman in the sec has had that many since that year.
Only the uninitiated think he wasnt a beast because they only see sacks as production.

Chaisson has not lived up to the hype

Fir of all, its CBS Sports doing the grading. Secondly, many players from their list will move up and down by April. Chaisson is not a first round pick and its laughable CBS Sports thinks he is. Delpit is also way too high. Fulton will move up. CEH will be a late first round pick.

Most overhyped player coming into the season by far compared to his impact or lack thereof.

That's Delpit.
Someone lied to Delpit and told he was a thumper. His tackling, every aspect, has been atrocious this year. Angles, wrapping up,and running through the tackles. As of right now... I'd take All the other all American safeties lsu has had over Delpit.
He has had a high ankle sprain maybe that's the reason.
