re: CBS sports has four tigers in the 1st rd for 2020. Might surprise you where they are.

So the worst part of his game is what he specializes in?
He’s far better at setting an edge, tackling, and covering than he is pass rushing.

I think this is kind of my point. I don't know what the numbers say but it feels like LSU doesn't get the most out of their talent. Like they're not developing players to their full potential. They seem to go into the NFL and be better especially on the offensive side of the ball but it's happened on the defensive side too. It's the exact opposite with most teams where a guy balls out in college and end up as busts in the NFL.
A lot of times it’s scheme but the NFL can maximize players with constant coaching. Practices can only be so long and there’s only so many in college and guys don’t get the 1 on 1 coaching they need. Also, a lot of positional coaching talent is sacrificed to get a better recruiter on a staff.
NFL just flat out has better coaching.

Good response but I'm comparing like to like. I think your point is valid in an overarching sense but when you compare LSU to other colleges it seems like the guys with lower expectations end up being the stars and the guys at high expectations end up not meeting them at LSU and then get developed in the NFL. For other colleges they seem to get more out of their highly rated players and then they may or may not end up with that same production in the NFL. For LSU, it seems to be just the opposite.
Has LSU just had bad position coaches or scheme? Obviously they've had bad scheme in the past on the offensive side so that goes without saying.

At times, yes and yes. Sometimes guys just don’t put the effort in to improve, sometimes they’re not smart enough to play, and sometimes they’re a total recruiting whiff or has maxed out in HS.

I have no doubt that Chaisson will be just like Hunter. He’s going to kill it in the NFL, especially since he’s been so good against the run this year too.

Scheme around a guy that out of position on half of the plays ? Mmmm... don’t think so
Unless by scheme you mean run a zone read to his side bc those things confuse the frick out of him

We will end up with maybe 2 in the first round. It always says we will have more than we do

Chaisson has done nothing to be in that position
His potential is huge but his production is non existent
I can see a Danielle Hunter type situation with KC in the league.

One mistake that our last National Championship team did was that some of those guys left college too early. Guys like Anthony Johnson, Michael Ford, and Sam Montgomery overvalued themselves. Maybe their were more, but I can't think of anyone else right now.

He's not coached. Just one move....that a speed rush trying to get around his guy to the outside. That's it!!

CEH is not going to be a first round pick and probably not even a second round pick. The value of a RB in the NFL is decreasing every year.

CBS isn’t the NFL. I don’t see two of these guys going in round 1. If they do, the state of college football is in bad shape player wise. Where are the results in college ????

low or average expectations and they end up balling out. I'm thinking guys like Tyrann Mathieu and Devin White.
So two 4 stars, with one of them being a very highly rated 4 star who was a battle between LSU and Alabama. You mean those two guys with low or average expectations?

Chaisson is a hard-worker and a quality character so scouts will love him but he’s not an elite pass rusher and that’s where most of his hype is centered around him being or becoming. Can he set the edge? Sure, all day. Is he strong and fast? Yeah. Does he have great technique? Hell no.
Do you think technique is innate or something? Technique can be taught. Chaisson has good natural instincts and is versatile. That's why he'll be taken high in the draft.

Delpit is one of three finalist for the Thorpe award. Some people base things solely off hype.

There have been recent suggestions that Jefferson could be a first rounder as well, bringing us to FIVE potential first rounders!

Y'all just looking a sacks. The NFL will love the versatility he's developed that have nothing to do with sacks

I think this is kind of my point. I don't know what the numbers say but it feels like LSU doesn't get the most out of their talent.
LBs who can rush and cover get drafted higher.
It isn't about his production, it's about ability.
"getting the most out of their talent" means doing their job as set forth by the coaches. If he is supposed to cover, and does it well... they got the most out of him without recording a sack.
Playing well means doing your job, well. He's been asked do alot of things other than rush the QB. And did them well. Hence his draft stock went up because of that.
Now if you think his job is to ONLY to get sacks, that's on you. If you think he should be able to cover and get a sack on the same play, that's also on you. But NFL GMs and coaches love to see both.

Obviously. And he’s been in a college program for 3 years and it really hasn’t improved but that’s really because of how raw he was.

Other than Burrow Fulton has had the best season out of the rest!
