What is the deal on that? I'm not sure what you are talking about.

Thats why I said its apparent LSU cant negotitate this, but it would be nice if we could.
Nice try though.

But it took you years to realize what everyone knew immediately. Over time, maybe you'll learn how to be a better poster as well.

No, you don't get it. We may bitch when they move a game to the day, but this year is completely different. We have ZERO home conference games at night, something that hasn't happened since the SEC was a mere two years old.

Again, I ask you, how would you feel if a television network were to strip away your biggest school tradition for an entire season, particularly one in which you have a damn good chance at winning the national championship? Of course, I know you're going to tell me that you wouldn't care, but give it a good hard think before you come on here and lie to us.

Look, I understand it was tradition years ago to play at night in TS. But that tradition is long gone since TV contracts have been in place.

Derp

This will be the first year in forever and a day that there won't be an SEC night game in Tiger Stadium.

When were TVs invented? 2008?

Has anyone wondered why a flipping Cornhusker fan is here lecturing us on............anything??

What are you doing here exactly, besides obvious trolling?

Technically, they have 1/12 of a say (now 1/13, I guess).

The SEC is so caught up in keeping the "traditional rivalry" of Bama/Tenn that everyone in the conference is forced to have a constant on the other sides. Ours happens to be UF. I like playing UF, but it's inequitable all for some bullshite rivalry that nobody cares about. Some say that it will change with expansion but who knows.

Think the opposite of Nebraska/OU.

Yes. I am sitting on my sofa with a box of tissues crying about this.

I don't mind playing day games. I just prefer night games and it's also a tradition so that makes it all the better.

Keep flaming away though, your team is still garbage.

It does suck that this will be the first time in 76 years that an sec home game will not be at night, but I would much rather havinga a great team with a night game on January 10 that CBS can't touch. GEAUX TIGERS!

With that said, I wish CBS hadn't picked this game up and it would be at night.

I think a Nebraska fan would understand how changing tradition happens and people need to deal with it because it's about money.

I just want to reiterate that no one on here cares about the opinion of a fan of an irrelevant program. Go back to crying about your coach or QB or whatever your irrelevant fan base is crying about this week.

The biggest difference between the new agreement and the current pact is that CBS will no longer have to deal with ESPN for priority picks on football games. CBS currently gets to pick seven of the top 10 games before each season, with ESPN getting the fourth, eighth and 10th selections.

quote:

the new agreement will allow CBS to have the first pick every week. CBS will keep using 3:30 p.m. Eastern as its time slot and will continue to broadcast one additional game at noon, one at 8 p.m., one game the Friday after Thanksgiving, and the league title game.

CBS experimented in 2007 by televising Alabama-Florida State and Alabama-LSU at 5 p.m., but Mike Aresco VP of programming said that will never happen again.

I wish it was a night game, but what has me concerned is the talk of WKU being in the morning. That is just ridiculous. Only 6 home games this year and two of them morning games. I also thought there was a rule we could opt out of early morning games if we had already played one that year.

Ah, okay. Never knew that. I didn't realize Bama/Tenn was even a rivalry game. How did that ever come about? The B1G does scheduling the way the SEC does. We all have one constant crossover game. I always preferred the way the Big 12 scheduled. Played all in division teams and then played 3 of the other divisions teams for two years and then the other three the following two years.

I just want to tell everyone that is complacent about the changing atmosphere around LSU football and it's traditions to basically shove your complacency up your arse.

I want to be able to recognize this university, and by extension it's football team, 40 years from now as the same place I spent some of my best years...and frick anyone that would forsake that for the money and the power of a few crystal trophies.
