Hot take I know,

aside from the fact the dude is a total cheese dick, just like Paul...

Just got a gut feeling that he will be a great coach that eventually averages 10 maybe even 11 wins a year and mayyyybe gets one title, again, similar to Paul.

Is that the level of success we are okay with? 100m for one title? Does simply making it to the CFP qualify as success? I'd happily take that over what we've seen the last two years, but I just don't see him pushing us over the edge into the "elite" territory as long as Saban is coaching in the west.

I could be way off the mark but I see some people making huge assumptions about him "changing the work ethic", and "alignment" and "insert buzzword" when he hasn't even coached a game here yet.

Obviously this is all speculation, but pretty much everything posted about him so far has been that way.
I know nothing yet and I hope I am very wrong.

That's a very successful football program. Who wins more than that other than Saban and maybe Dabo but he plays in a shite conference?

CPM was not "a cheese dick". That guy was a beloved coach.

All of this because they both come from ND Coaching Tree?

Something he CAN do is not look like a blubbering idiot on National TV and interviews.

I wasn't drawing comparison on the ND coaching tree,

Just the ability to finish a season with a championship and being corny as frick

Are you asking if we are ok with "only" winning one championship during Kelly's tenure?

If so, the answer is obviously yes.

Right,

that is the question,
so you're fine with that and only winning one title?

cause if I'm not mistaken, people were calling for Paul's head after losing in the championship series to Florida?

Not to mention all the national seeds we had that we did nothing with...

Brian Kelly is extremely capable of looking like a blubbering idiot on national TV. He is a massive tw@t, who only cares about himself. ND fans despised him, and despite his success, were happy to see him go. You're in the honeymoon phase right now, but trust me, in a few years, probably less, you will neither like nor respect Brian Kelly. It's possible though that he will win enough for you to tolerate him, as ND fans did for 12 years.

So for those of us not fluent in hillbilly, what exactly is a "cheese dick"? I need a better understanding

there is nothing wrong with being a cheese dick dude

dude is just corny as frick.
Don't see him being able to sit down in the living room with a kid from Scotlandville and have a conversation with him about anything other than "alignment"

Winning a single title doesn't grant you immunity for the rest of your coaching career.

Paul Mainieri got a lot of flak - some justified & some not - but his tenure at LSU was extremely successful. Not as much as we (or he) would have liked, sure, but if Brian Kelly has the same type of career here I'd call that a good & successful run.
