He went 4-8 in year seven at ND. Can you imagine if he goes 4-8 here.

Also why is the narrative that it’s hard to recruit at ND. Marcus Freeman does not seem to have problems recruiting there. Maybe Kelly is just not the best recruiter. Also he always got blown out in big games at ND. You thought if he came here all of a sudden he wouldn’t?

Marcus Freeman hasn't really recruited any better there than Kelly did.

He was 54-9 there his last 5 years.

8-5 year 1 and year 2, won close to 80% of his games after that, even with the 4-8 year in there.

He took them from national joke to national power in 36 months. And that’s with geographic and self imposed limitations.

Some of y’all are so fricking stupid it hurts.

You realize ND recruits outside of the state of Indiana? Their roster has a whopping 6 players from IN.

Some of y’all need to step away from the keyboard.

We lost a big game. It happens. We’ll be fine.

Brian Kelly at ND and Les Miles at LSU coaching record vs top 25 teams, vs top 10 teams and when it was a matchup of top 25 teams with ND being ranked higher.

Vs. Top 25 teams
BK 34-34
LM 42-23

Vs. Top 10 teams
BK 4-13
LM 16-16

Top 25 matchup when ND/LSU was the higher ranked team
BK 18-14
LM 30-14

Brian Kelly is basically Les Miles 2.0.

Even after 2011 les Miles went 11 and 10 versus top 25 and eight and seven when they were the higher ranked team. Still a winning record in both categories. Brian Kelly can’t say that.

We can talk about Les Miles, who people forget was an excellent coach that refused to adapt to the changing game. He may still be the coach here today if he had.

2021: #9
2022: #7 - This is the transition class
2023: #12
2024: Currently at #12

Those numbers say that Les is a lot better actually. Even with the run heavy offense and leaning on trick plays and fake kicks in key moments.

Those Notre Dame teams were so soft and slow, the fact he did anything with them proved he was a competent coach. I remember watching them in the title game and playoffs and the difference in size and speed was staggering compared to Alabama. The whole point of him coming to LSU was to pair good coaching with great talent. The opposite is happening. The coaching is bad and unprepared and he is filling LSUs ranks with ULL, Southeastern, Syracuse and Oregon State type guys. I rather we just start the freshman guys and give them reps if this the results we are going to get with transfers

Yeah, but he had already taken them to the national championship game and then he won 54 games over the next 5 seasons after the one losing season. And ND was shitty before he took over. He's not Saban. There is only one Saban. But he obviously did a very good job there.

And remember ND under him eased its schedule. Not regularly playing Michigan State and Purdue and played Western Michigan and other schools instead and it gets games against ACC teams other than FSU and Clemson and always plays Navy and plays Army with some regularity.
