No offense but have you seen the talent his classes have brought in? To say he can't scout or recruit is just plain dumb. Everyone has misses.

If Pat Casey also recruits, I'd be okay with it. But Cain cannot be our main recruiter. Nope!

If he’s not the main recruiter what value does he bring? He’s useless at every actual coaching responsibility he has.

Ok it's lazy if you say so but we constantly have Top 5 classes and had the #1 class this past year with obvious results at the plate so who are you going to get as your recruiter that is so much better?

You don’t get it. That’s fine. Just saying he’s on the receiving end of jokes at his expense by a friend of mine that’s a longtime scout for the Angels. He’s quick to point out he isn’t the only one that thinks his talent evaluation is dog shite.
The kids we get that make up those illustrious top 5 classes are the product of LSU’s history and traditions… not the work of Nolan Cain.

If he has recruiting connections in this area that Casey does not, that would be the value Cain brings. I'd prefer to have Cain simply open those doors and introduce Casey, then let Casey do the talking.

Other than Trout the Angels scouting staff could use a ton of work... Just saying maybe he isn't the best judge of talent.

So a 70 year old former mlb player that gets a steady paycheck to scout the panhandle doesn’t know what he’s doing? And Cain knows more?

Im not saying that the Angels Minor league system is. Also you are arguing the wrong point argue he's a bad on the field coach and I got no problem with it but saying LSU recruits it's self then saying he needs to go doesn't make sense. You are in a sense saying anyone could do the job why not keep the guy that already has the local connections for the coach from across the country.

My opinion is what it is. I think Nolan Cain is a great person but terrible at talent evaluation. You can take my “sauces” for what you want, but I don’t care about winning an internet argument that’s prize is TD upvotes.
His forte is coaching. I don’t doubt he’ll be successful down the road as a coach. Just saying he’s not the best scout out there.
Again, could he recruit and or find a gem that’s a late bloomer that gets drafted in the 30th round? Not the guys who break a finger their junior year and want to have a butler carry their bag around for them than riding around in a piss smelling bus… just a thought

My sources (who know Cain personally) said with the speculation of a new staff coming in as well as a HC, Cain is interested in the Nicholls St Head Coaching job, and they have mutual interest as well, but wont discuss anything until LSU season is a wrap.

Coach Casey is not the answer. We need some youth at the helm of Tiger baseball! Even 50-somethings would work! Think recruiting!

Great hire for them… let him learn how to recruit from a school that doesn’t get fed future MLB talent yearly
