O will have to go out and find another coordinator.
quote:Meh. It sucks, but it happens.
That puts our offense in a position to have to learn a new scheme.
quote:Well, I mean........that's ALWAYS the case. No matter who the HC is. Good offensive coordinators are in demand as HCs.
And if that coordinator leaves? Rinse and repeat.

Love him or hate him, miles always ran a similar offense with each OC.
Saban has done the same.
Meyer has done the same.
Stoops did the same.
Etc
Etc

Yeah, it's when you make up complete and utter bullshite and then when you get called on it you ask someone if they know what hyperbole is.

My point is that, from my recollection, he's said he wants either:
-Pro-style like early-mid 2000s USC
-A modern spread
-Whatever the best available OC wants to run
All of them sound good to me after what LSU had run the previous 12 years. I can accept any of the above.

Do you not see how this is problematic?
Every program loses coordinators and have to adjust to a new OC. It's not something new and usually doesn't hurt programs as much as you would think.
In Kiffin's first year at Bama they lost in the semi-final to Ohio State by 7 points. The next year they won the championship.
If that's bad. I want a lot of it.

Saban has a distinct philosophy on both sides of the ball. He's had OCs come and go, but has always had the same offense pretty much.
bullshite. Read the internet about when Bama hired Kiffin. Saban knew he needed to change. Something the last LSU coach wouldn't do.

Adjustments =/= complete change of offensive philosophy. Kiffen brought more down field passes, but they were still a bruising run game first and foremost.

But great programs have a leader that has an identity in mind when he looks for his next OC who will help him successfully implement that identity allowing continuity in recruiting and off-season preparation. They don't just say "frick it" and shift offensive philosophies as the wind blows.

...and he did. And he maintained the shift in offensive identity this year with a new OC. C'mon man.

Sure, Saban adapted when he needed to. But change every time there’s a new coordinator? Nah that’s not a Saban trademark.
Saban interfering with the offense = Telling Kiffin to stop trying to run cute crap when running between the tackles is averaging 7-8 yards.
Orgeron interfering with the offense = LSU losing to Troy.

The hell you are. Who the "F" is Jacob Parks?

TH03:Yep. And if we wised up and pulled Jacob parks, our game is completely different. They had 3 interceptions on balls where the receiver was open and parks overthrew them right into the defenders hands.

Sounds like you are a Tea-sip with a kissing-bandit infatuation.
You are not an LSU fan. Go away

Other than guessing, is there some reason to think that O won't end up hiring OCs who share at least vaguely similar philosophies going forward?
I think it's fair to say that he doesn't seem happy with the Canada style.
But, that doesn't mean he won't choose to stick true to a particular form going forward.
I mean, he might not. But, he might.

Holy crap what a pathetic post
I've been an LSU fan since birth. I have family playing on the Iowa State team, hence why I support them too.
fricking jabroni. You must have really thought you got me with that pathetic post

You do realize Nick Saban hired Lane Kiffin don't you?

Jacob Parks was the Iowa State QB. I know you don’t follow college football outside of LSU, so I just wanted to clarify for you.

You can say that about all Tiger Ree posts. Dude is on the Coach O payroll. Only way to describe it.

He's never been a coordinator on either side of the ball and his history is a d line coach. What is there to tell us he has an offensive preference or identity?
I'm just skeptical here.

He said he was going to hire the best. What if the best doesn’t fit whatever his style is on that particular day?

Well that's why I never heard of him like the other poser who seems upset he plays for his team.
