We were going to be passing... DW is better at picking up blitzers than Guice.

Guice destroyed several Notre Dame pass rushers during the game. His pass blocking is fine.

It's hard to do when they spin so much shite, hard to keep up with their own narratives/FACTS.

Such a retard. And people wonder why outsiders think LSU fans are the biggest morons on Earth.

There's plenty to criticize O about without making up shite. It would help your case to be honest.

Offense looked as good as it did all year. Kickers missed chip shots...same as all year.

Plenty to be hopeful for in this New Year though!

-Good recruit class incoming
-Defense will be stacked
-New QB
-OL and DL should be a strength
-Play makers at WR
-New offensive philosophy?

Dude, show me some evidence that Canada didn't call the game.

It looked nothing like anything we had run all season. If Canada called the plays it was O limiting what Canada could do.

If you can't see how different this game was to the rest of the season you're fooling yourself.

Aranda shite the bed. His passive approach and dropping eight in coverage is a good way to "prevent" winning. You would have thought "third and chavis" was still DC!!!

Out routes and deep sideline routes. Middle of field and intermediate routes excluded. OTs switched in motion. H-back motions, WR motions. A few jet sweeps. Stopped after an 8 yard loss ended a drive.

The announcers basically discussed Canada's offensive MO throughout the game as it unfolded and how ND was countering it.

That last Notre Dame drive was not the same Aranda that stifled Florida and Auburn late in those games. What WUZ he thinking? Or did Chavis suddenly surface unexpectedly on the Tiger sideline, after being pinkslipped by Aggie U.?

If you judge by the jet sweeps only, it is worth noting we ran only 1 in the UT game too.

That was one thing I noticed that was different from Canada all season vs the ND game: We didn't really adjust to what they were doing. Halftime adjustments most of the year have been noticeable and effective. Not so much yesterday.

The rest did look Canada-esque to me.

That's an interesting observation which could be due to footing and field speed considering both of those were bad weather games.

The shocker was that Aranda who has been a 2nd half genius seemingly got outschemed when ND put the other QB in.

Hugh Freeze doesn't understand you can't run up-tempo 100% of the time. You have to know when to go up tempo and when to slow it down, otherwise your defense is gassed in the 2nd half. Ole Miss blew plenty of leads because of this. Hugh Freeze also doesn't understand the importance of a run game or simply doesn't know how to utilize one. Sure Freeze may have beaten Alabama, but he also went 5-7 his last year at Ole Miss and it wasn't because of a lack of a passing game. In 2016, Ole Miss averaged just 25 minutes of possession a game but still scored 32 points per game. Their problem was they had no balance on offense and tried to score in 2 minutes every drive, which is great in doses but not from start to finish.

I think that was a large, not all, but large part of it.

Our (or Canada's) are a substitute for RPO, it's just pre-read. Hence are designed to be cut upfield just outside containment reading the same DE that a normal RPO would. AND be close to the LoS. Makes it have the effect of a traditional rush play (LBs and S have to react in same manner) and limits lost yardage if they do read it correctly.

So if cuts are limited, so will the success and then it works against you in the sense of "ignore the fakes".

The rest of it, ND was taking it away. They didn't disguise it. They wanted us to know they were ready for it. Hence, the fakes were less effective. Same net effect.

I thought we'd see the shovel pass more because of that. At least the fakes would not have a more pronounced effect. That's why he ran the shovel so much against Clemson while at Pitt. They opened up the middle using their LBs to cover the sweep and kept twisting/stunting their DEs. Think of the shovel pass as a jet sweep cut short to go up the middle. Except ND used varying covers between S, LB, and DE. Couldn't develop that pre-snap RPO read (i.e. they had no tendencies).

That's one adjustment I'm surprised we didn't see and is un-Canada like.

Because the one time we ran it, they got us for an 8 yard loss, that's why. ND was waiting for jet sweep all day.

Again, I don't pull for O. I pull for LSU.

Is it really a fact?? I don't understand why you hope that LSU fails next season and in foreseeable future just because you didn't agree with the hire. Support it until it fails. You're acting like an overreacting whiny arse.
