re: Can we talk about officiating?

bullshite walter! holding happens on every play.....i mean every play. The refs just get a habit or more time when its a big play to look at who could we call for holding. They screwed us both times.

And aside from the bad calls, just the way the official made the announcements and handled the game made me lose confidence in his abilities. He seemed kinda 'slow' to me.

Yea they sucked overall.

I agree that officiating was not the reason for the outcome.........
BUT how does fournette rush in last drive, come up half yard shy, marked two yards shy, and state gets first downs on two gains of eight and nine yards on two plays.
Or how about the clock on that last drive stopping a couple times on non first down gains. THAT MY FRIENDS JUST LOOKS WRONG.

We got s defensive hands to the face called on a lineman
That personal foul on Ricky Jefferson was instantly after a legal play.
Also that Phantom holding on Hawkins on the Dural TD was bad too (maybe they had the wrong number but Hawkins did a good job on that play)

In the second half after the long run for a TD was called back for a hold, wasn't it 1st and 10 from the 18 again? Did I miss something
Spot of the foul.

It was sort of a weak hold, but he did hook the MSU defender

The penalties were lopsided. Msu had 3, really? Key was getting held all night

I saw it as the refs were pretty bad, and it hurt us a few times.
Examples- there was an obvious, blatant hold that even the announcers called, but was missed.. and a penalty was called against us instead. Should have offset.
Dupre's non-catch series- 1st off, Dupre messed that up by not acting more adamant that he caught it. He just trotted back to the huddle. The replay sure looked like a catch, though. I think if he had been a little demonstrative, it actually might have been called differently, just my opinion.
Then, on the next play, Darrell Williams was busting into the secondary by the time they blew the whistle to review it. I honestly think he gains that first down, or makes it 4th and short.
There was another big Williams run, where they call an OL for holding, and I didn't see it. Arms were extended, but the jersey was still free. He just had a good block engaged.

And here we go.... LSU won..............The refs did NOT do anything to decide the game.....
ENOUGH
When you're at a bar watching the game with people who have no skin in it, didn't go to LSU, and could give zero fricks about the outcome of the game, and they're sitting there going, "Wow, that was bullshite" every time a big play of LSU's got called back for "holding" or some other phantom call, there just might be something to the refs sucking big floppy donkey dick.

Sorry dude. A great play but it was a legit hold.......

i'm pretty pissed about the inconsistency in officiating. i don't care about holding calls as long as both teams are going to get slammed on it. set the tone, throw the flags, but do it to both teams. LSU got the lion's share and they only seemed to come on huge plays.
that said, state's secondary is TERRIBLE and the fact that we quit throwing the ball after those called back TD's is insane. Harris looked pretty damn good and they handcuffed him to ride out the lead.
i can't believe that game came down to our exhausted D and their field goal unit... again.
you gotta put your foot on the gas and never let up, because turning it back on seems to be impossible after you've pulled back.
the first half seemed to work so well throwing when they thought we were running. just... flabbergasted.

No way they could overturn that call - nothing showed the ball did NOT touch the ground. It's just too bad the on the field call was 'incomplete.' It was a catch and certainly nothing showed the ball DID touch. .
The video was clear that it was a catch. There's no reasonable way to look at the video and say it was not a catch. If that video doesn't overturn that call, then let's just scrap replay altogether.

My buddy, a USC fan, was screaming at the TV that it was a catch. The entire bar was confused at how it wasn't. It wasn't even fricking close. It was clearly a catch.

But that's not conclusive enough. Which tells me nothing will be conclusive enough and lets just stop bothering with replay.

Worst call of the night was on State's final drive. They completed an 8 or 9 yard pass on 1st down. The officials stopped the clock and gave them a first down. That gave them at least an extra 10 seconds.

I wonder if there was only one camera angle and that's why they couldn't overturn it.

The official on our sideline (one that threw the flag on Adam's for taunting) was absolutely turrible.
