It’s similar to Donellsonville or Donaldsonville, nobody wants to live there.

I've never heard anyone pronounce it that way.

City founded by William Hardy( main drag through town is Hardy St.) who named it after his wife, Hattie. Hence, Hat-eez-burg.

My grandmother’s name was Hattie so that is the way I pronounce it.
