I think I can say the stem cells and cortisone injections is like taking baby aspirin to what he getting. Nothing illegal, but very close. It’s already been authorized by the SEC. He isn’t considering redshirting, unless Jay gets through to him. But I don’t think him or his family is going to be fine with a redshirt. He willl probably go to one of the 7schools that gaurateed him he would start at SS Day1 and be the closer for them. He’s ready to play, he didn’t pass up $2,875,000 to go pro not to play. He’s a special kid and every coach that’s spent time with him said he’s one of the greatest leaders they’ve seen. He’s special and he’ll do anything within the rules to get on the field

Based on how well this bullpen has performed, Guidry is way down the pecking order of relievers to use.

Come again?
We've got 5 pitchers that we can count on and one of the 5 isn't exactly nails.
Although the back end of the pen looked good Tuesday besides noot. Between benge and Schmitt they didn't allow a hit over like 6 innings combined

good to hear and yea he is a special leader.

I will say, if he doesnt put on more weight and strength...he is going to continue to get hurt. he needs to be about 205-210. He is a very elastic athlete. that less meso cycle chris had him on that add 11 pounds helped but he needs 2 or 3 more lifting cycles where he focuses on size and strength to really reach his potential and remain healthy.

Fixating over this does not seem mentally healthy. Enjoy the games and cheer on the players’ accomplishments.

Try sending positive thoughts for Guidry. His timeline is his timeline. Wish him well and enjoy yourself some Tiger baseball.

His parents were at my house for dinner tonight. Gary stayed on the phone at least 3 hours talking to his medical staff and coaches. Some options being discussed, minimally invasive treatment. That’s as far as I’ll go, I can’t say anything else about the procedure.

Yes, if all goes accordingly I definitely think he goes this weekend!!

He is going to have a procedure between now and tomorrow and be able to pitch this weekend all of a sudden?

When has Johnson ever come out and say exactly what the injury was?

Just off the top of my head, Primeaux and Noot faced SEC teams last year.

Noot threw his only inning of the year in an SEC game and Primeaux 1/3 of an inning

Yeah, I appreciate the guy bringing info to the board but sounds like he's being fed some very ultra positive stuff.

Guidry did not pass up nearly $3M in the draft to come here. He wasnt considered anywhere that kind of stock out of high school

Most places had him in the 50s or 60s I believe. Maybe about closer to half of $2.9M or whatever he said. $2.9M might have been HIS number but no team was going to come close to hitting that.

i dunno if he has or not, doesnt mean some of us dont know exactly what it is

but i think he has said back was the issue and he had check points to get to be able to pitch

the coach can be limited by hippa laws, could be a coaching strategy etc.

I don't understand how it's LSU's fault if he's too hurt to play. If he wants to play hurt, I still don't think it would wise of LSU to allow that.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding why he would go elsewhere to play. Is another school willing to let him play hurt? If and when he's healthy, he would play at LSU. Or, is this about him being able to be a two way player? He's too hurt to play one way, much less two.

Gavin himself has been a great teammate by all accounts. But his camp is always on here saying weird shite.

Feels like he would need to drop down a level to be guaranteed a starting SS spot.

I guess a McNeese or Lamar would closer to the family as well.

Can you imagine pulling your SS off the field to close a game lol

Especially one that hasn’t hit a lick when given the opportunity here at lsu in the previous offseasons

we discussed this at the time. He had a number of 2.9 and was not budging. I was told the offer was 2.4 and he would have been drafted early or even late but paid like a top pick

it was very much real

yea 2.9 was his number but he was offered over 2.

its not and despite what the other guy is saying....gavin has sucked when given a chance to hit. sucked bad bad with tons of strikeouts.

he is severely underweight and lacks strength. also he is pretty fragile.

and if you want to make his back issues worse...let him play both ways.

i dont understand wtf the guy was trying to say as far as moving on.

yea i dunno wtf that guy was saying. At one point in one of the fall camps, he was like 1 for 20 with like 15 strikeouts or something like that. and he had lots of errors at short during the fall camps too.

not saying he cant be a good SS but nobody and i mean nobody is guaranteeing him a starting SS spot. They may be spouting some BS to get him to transfer but once there....different story

We saw video of him throwing on March 9th.

If thats the case, hate to say it, but he really screwed himself probably not taking that. I highly doubt this year (or next if he redshirts and comes back) he'll be seeing close to that with his injury history and kind of general lack of playing time.

Things looked so good to close out last season and in the fall last year though (dude looked REALLY elite, enough to get "starter" conversations going into spring), so anything can happen, but the injury history has to be a pretty big red flag for MLB teams at this point.
