Seems like when he drives to the basket and hits just a couple, it makes the rest of our shooters so much more open with better looks.

I think his defense was the best part of the half

I was really pleased with his game yesterday. Pons might be the best defender in the country and I was worried Trendon would try to force things against him. But he didn’t and he kept Pons occupied away from the basket most of the game. Super unselfish performance from him.

Agreed. He gets alot of shite here, and some of it rightfully so, but he didnt force it nearly as much yesterday and kept the spacing in a good way. One thing i did notice is he mis-timed his jump a couple of times yesterday, seems to be part of the rebounding issue

He played well yesterday. He was much more under control and and used much better touch on his shots after driving in.

Watford was more engaged defensively yesterday than he has been since the TTU game. Offensively, he was kind of taken out of the game. His usage rate was the second lowest among the starters (second only to Hyatt, though Hyatt was MUCH more efficient since he delivered on the relatively small number of offensive plays he got a chance to make).

LSU has the luxury of having 4 guys who can put up big numbers every night. They don't HAVE to rely on Watford to do all of the lifting. Thus, nights when he is overly selfish really hurt the team because it is unnecessarily taking plays away from guys who are also very capable players. He didn't force things yesterday. And hopefully the "big 3" are starting to understand just how important Days is for this team. If they are willing to give up some shots to Days when he pops open LSU's offense becomes incredibly tough to stop because all 5 defenders have to be dragged out to the perimeter...creating a ton of space for everybody to work. Days is the most efficient offensive player in the SEC by a pretty good margin

More concerning is the lack of rebounding. Only Thomas had fewer rebounds. For a team that really struggles in allowing offensive rebounds they really need him to help out Days more.

Yeah, he had just 1 against State. So that's 5 rebounds in two games. Hyatt had 8 rebounds just yeaterday in less time. 5 rebounds in two games is bad for someone Watford's size. He had 9 against Bama, so it seems like an effort thing I would think.

Eh, he had alot agaisnt bama because we missed so many shot against them, and alot of those shots were his own real close to the goal, so he was in good position to get the rounds

The last 2 games he’s been the 3rd man in the offense and that’s the right formula for us. Thomas looking to attack more, Smart having more freedom then Watford as the half court sort of anchor is the way this offense is best. Wade said he was going to reshuffle the offense prior to the State game and things are flowing much better since. With the pace we want it only makes sense to have both guards looking to attack first and if it’s not there Watford can start his attack from closer in. Having a hesitant Javonte Smart left a lot of offense on the table and it was a good move for Wade to cut him loose.

There were at least 4 attempts where his mind was made up he was going to shoot regardless of number of defenders. On at least 2 of those, he was triple teamed. That means, at least 2 of his teammates were unguarded. He’s got to make the pass.

Wade or someone must of gotten through to him that he was killing his NBA stock. The way we were playing on offense was causing all of the players without the ball to stand around. Then after the more than likely bad shot or turnover we were flatfooted and our opponent was off and running on offense.

The last 2 games we have had much better ball movement, which has caused the players to be more engaged and a better shooting percentage. These 2 things have helped us get back and setting up our defense much better taking away many of the easy baskets and wide open looks we have been giving up.
