Announcing has gotten so lazy across the board. They don’t do enough research on the teams that are playing. They just repeat the same 3 or 4 talking points every game for every team (i.e. Cam Thomas is leading scorer in Oak Hill High School history, Kramer’s mom is Kim Mulkey, etc.). And the rest is just filler either promoting a future game on the network or talking about standings/the top teams across the country.

I mean they've beat the hell out of everybody they've played in the sec this year. Best team in the league, beat Tennessee, blew out Arkansas today, etc.

I get that they are really good but here’s a thought how about talk about the teams actually on the court instead. Not one person watching South Carolina/LSU play basketball on a Saturday night during the NFL divisional football games give two shites about any other teams and what/how they are doing.

They should change the name from the SEC network to the Alabama Network. I could not understand why they had such a hard on for Alabama...did not even see any of the LSU highlights.

Yes that's a thought. Here's another... Alabama is LSU's next game. Two of the best teams in the league. They are marketing that matchup. Not complicated and it's been done just like that for years. Not sure why anybody was suprised

Yea I know nothing is going to change. Probably will get worse not better moving forward, but It doesn’t mean it’s not lazy announcing. The suits at the network aren’t going to say anything because it’s free advertisement and the only people that really care are the ones that watch every game no matter what because we are tired of hearing the same talking points over and over and over.

Yes Mike, we know Frank Martin isn't coaching tonight. Yes Mike, you told us Carolina hasn't played a game in 2 weeks. Yes Mike, we know they have played 2 games in 41 days.
Yes Mike, we know Thomas was the all-time scorer at his school. You told us that 10 times the last time you called our game.
He called the super regional with us and Florida State when it was Mike Martin's last season. If Morgan had called Martin "11" one more time, I think I would have broken something.
This dude's cookie-cutter formula is simple and lazy.
Talk to SID, get a couple of talking points, then just beat them to death all night.
But at least he talked about the game he was calling for a while. That douche Tom Hart quit talking about the Arkansas game with about 5 minutes left on the first half and turned it into a college basketball podcast with himself and Jimmy Dykes, which I really didn't want.
