For three/four days straight, there was thread after thread about Joe B. Then he left without committing and 90% of this board appears to have melted. I had a super busy weekend and was without TD for large swaths of time. Looking today and it seems like everybody’s dog has been run over.

Why is there the assumption that he’s obviously headed for Cincy? Is it just because he left with some options?

What exactly did I miss?

People assume that if you don't commit on the spot and decide to be smart and talk it out with your family, then it must mean that you aren't committing at all.
Don't pay attention to any of these asshats, we should find out very soon where he will decide to play.

I think you summed it up pretty well. Overreaction to begin with and overreaction today. No one knows a damn thing except the Burrow family.

He came and saw what we had to
Offer. Ate food, and met the coaches.

He left without committing.

Osu and Cincinnati sources feel cincy gets his commitment but not sure

Cincy lean b4 the visit. Dad n son met with offensive coaches for 4 hrs and foster was his guide around BR. All coaches were present. Dandy Don feels confident we get him. Random dude on Twitter says good news coming for LSU. Several Ohio writers say he is still a Cincy lean

Here’s some advice I’ve learned living on the recruitboard for over 10 years:

Just assume he’s gone. You’ll sleep better.

Aww, come on man. Where’s the fun in that? A little hope never hurt anyone.

I don't know what has happened either but I think he is looking for a schools where he can be a starter. It is hard for a school like LSU to give him that assurance, he has to earn it.

Moreau is a great choice because he's mature, a leader and he is focused.
One thing that is often overlooked is that the recruiters/interviewers are also making a decision of whether they want the applicant/recruit.
Foster is going to report to the coaches about what he thought of Burrow. Will he fit in? Is he likable? Is he a leader? The coaches are also making that assessment.
Does anyone really know if he was, in fact, offered?

Yes. LSU's roster is full of top shelf QBs. Always has been, always will be...

This is Dandy Don's take on Burrow: He does NOT think Burrow is an L.S.U. lock. "Now for the hot topic of football recruiting and Joe Burrow’s visit. The Burrows left Baton Rouge without giving LSU a commitment and I’ve heard from several of you who take that as a bad sign. Honestly, it doesn’t surprise me that the Burrows want to mull things over a bit more before making such an important decision. As of now, it appears to me that they are deciding between: 1) A Cincinnati program that offers proximity to home, a strong relationship with head coach Luke Fickell, and, according to some reports, a promise that Joe would be their starter; or 2) A much more prestigious LSU program that’s a long way from home but offers an elite level of Power 5/SEC competition and all that comes with it – including national exposure and a greater chance of playing for a title – as well as a very strong opportunity to be the starting quarterback and a relationship with safeties coach Bill Busch. At this point, it’s anyone’s guess how this thing plays out, but I suspect we’ll have a better feel for things very soon.

It'd be nice if LSU caught a break this time.
