Yeah, but Danny McCray was very stout against the run as well. But that didn't help him when an opposing receiver was racing past him for a touchdown.
It's great being physical and all - after all we play in the SEC. But I gotta say that my primary requirement for a cornerback is his ability to cover opposing receivers. And all reports were that Jenkins was better than Collins in coverage. And the day may come when LSU fans are gonna wish Jenkins had stayed - regardless of how much of a pvssy he might have been.
I never saw Deion Sanders stick his nose in any running back's chest either, but somehow he managed to hold onto his position in college and the pros. Not saying that Jenkins was the 2nd coming, but no one ever questioned his cover skills.

Let's be honest then.,,TM7 was very physical but he was not a great cover guy..would you like him back or Jenkins? We proved last year we can have that one physical DB who is decent in coverage but helps out on the run and still have a great defense...

You've been hanging out on the sec rant for too long.

He was a great cover CB. The only thing was he would get lulled into the other team avoiding him, and peaking to pull off his man to make another play. Occasionally,he'd give up some yards, but can't remeber him giving up a TD, last year..

Mathieu typically wins his 1-on-1 battles but Collins won that drill.
