A conference championship game has nothing to do with a playoff system

I was referring to the following statement.

The baest answer is 8 team playoff, 6 bcs champs, and the 2 highest rated champions of non bcs conferences, usually the WAC and MWC champ. IF you do not win your conference then Shut the frick up.

What the frick are you smoking??? Who the hell do you have left to play? The Pac - 10 is so sorry, again, it's insane. BTW, I do recall the fact that we have to play UGA, Bama and a pretty stingy Ole Miss team...

You don't need a confernce championship game to determine a conference champ. In fact a true Round Robin is superior to choosing a conference champion.

This poll is not in the future tense. These are preliminary BCS rankings based on the season thus far.

The fact is that USC currently has the toughest SOS played out of any 1 loss (or undefeated team).

This is true but the drop off will be huge by seasons end and you bitches will be left out of the Championship race...

Nobody said any different, I was just stating that we still have to play those teams because the USC guy was saying that they have a tougher schedule than us for the rest of the season.

Anyways, It's obvious that the BCS is a crock of shite, but somehow they are # 4 in both the coaches and computer poll.

They're computer poll's high right now, because they have a great SOS, at this moment. But it will fall as the season goes on.

Like everyone else is saying, their current SOS based on games played thus far is #3. As they beat up on shitty Pac-10 teams for the rest of the season, that will drop. They're gonna need for Cal, Oregon, and Arizona to do some winning.

actually some years its too sec advantage too have champ game sometimes not

since the pac 10 plays all other 9 teams in conf they have a true champ

in years where the best in the west has to play best in the east twice sec gets screwed, but one can say last year LSU got advantage b/c Tenn was not best team from east, and we avoided playing Georgia or having to play Fla twice.....

ofcourse in 2003 it was a tougher road for us b/c best in East was UGA and we had to playem twice......

so having or not having a title game has advantages and disadvantages both waysssss

A conf. championship game can either help or hurt a teams chances to get to the bcs nc game. Not arguing that, just saying that you don't need one to determine a true conference champion.

I've read the arguments and I have to say I disagree.

Their current SOS might be decent for now, but look who they lost to. Yeah Ole Miss was a big underdog when they beat UF, but UF pounced back and knocked the shite out of us. True USC annihilated OSU, but OSU is garbage. OU lost to the current #1 team in a hell of a game and UGA lost to Bama. How in the hell do they get a vote over those two teams? Plus you have Ok State who just beat Mizzou, Penn State is who hands down better than OSU, then the unbeaten TTU, BYU and Utah. If SOS is the answer, then obviously something is wrong.

thats what i said..... you guys play all pac 10 teams every year.... sometimes like last year we avoided uga, in 2003 it helped yet was more difficult to beat uga twice....
