This game has everything to do with mental fortitude it is truly as simple as that. LSU is better on paper but they don't play the game on paper. Arky has gotten much better under Beliema but they aren't at LSU's talent level and LSU should win this game. Unfortunately losing to Bama takes the wind out of players because they have to get jacked up to play the 900lbs gorilla in Bama. It is going to be how much does LSU have left in the tank mentally to beat Arky. Arky is going to be up to play us after what they did to UF so they will want to beat LSU bad.

If Coach O can get this team to look past the Bama loss and play for the rest of the year, we should win this game. If Coach O can't get them past this loss then we will not win this game. It is truly that simple and you should know within the first 10mins of the game as to how mentally ready LSU is to play this game.

Arkansas has the 91 st rated running defense....91st. If we get stymied in the run against the 91 st rushing defense, then something is more wrong than just who the head coach is.

Well they will not put as much pressure on QB so he should do better. That said DE looked pretty bad his last game.

Arkie will always play us hard, but I think O and the team will do their best to avoid a skid. The Bama game always takes a lot out of us, so let's just hope for the best.

I totally agree.

I've seen Bama completely dominate our run game and have fits with a team like AU running the ball.

2 different styles.

Lol no. Our pass defense isn't bad. We'll pick him off twice

Without a doubt our Qb can beat Arky if the oline holds up.

Arkansas once lost to Auburn 56-3. Auburn rushed for 550 yards!! I think that answers your question.

Something tells me this thread looks very similar to what was posted after the Bama game last year and headed into the Arkansas game.

Let me give you some advice as a razorback fan. Bama tan real well against us. A&M ran real well against us. Auburn ran real well against us.

These teams have read option/mobile quarterbacks schemes. We've made defensive adjustments since the Auburn game. We've played only one game since Auburn with this new lineup and we beat Florida soundly not because we had to outscore them in the forth quarter but because they don't have the read option scheme and our new D alignment.

LSU is a better match up for us (not a read option every ply type team). Not saying we will win, just that our defense historically does much better against more pro-style offenses than spread option. Just my two cents. I believe LSU will win; but I don't think you will run for 300 yards like many on hear sound like you are going to

LSU's QB will not have to beat Arkansas, our running game and defense will be enough to get the victory.
Arkansas will play LSU hard, but expect LSU to play just as hard this year, Coach O is changing the culture at LSU and these kids are buying into that.
On paper LSU is easy to pick but the game is played on the field, LSU will put this one away in the 4Th

Florida has had no idea how to run the football all year, it was only a matter of time before they had to play another team with a pulse and get their arse kicked.

Arkansas defense, the front 7 mainly is nowhere near the type of defense that they fielded the last two years. LSU will have success running the football and with play action passing.
Arkansas has a great QB, I have much respect for that dude. Guy is in my opinion the second best QB in
the SEC and you can argue that he may be the best. He
can take a hit and has the ability to make all the throws you need at this level. Problem is the offensive line has not been able to really protect him well this year, and they don't have the power running game to help out.

Pretty much this. LSU has a more similar offense to ours than Alabama, A&M or Auburn did.

They rank just below LSU in rushing offense in the league. Literally, one spot below.

The entire 10 man rotation on the DL is the same minus one guy from last season. 9/10 guys are the same DL that played LSU last season. The LBs are the same as well.

DE will go off, Arkansas DB's not as good as Bama's, our WR should be able to get better separation.

Florida avg rush a game is 150 at 4.16 yards att.
LSU ave rush a game is 214 at 6.20 yards att.

Arkansas rush defense avg 198.44 yards a game
LSU rush defense avg 119.25 yards a game.

As I said the matchups would seem to be a lean for LSU. Stats can be somewhat misleading and the game is
played on the field, should be a good game.

I believe we will beat ARK just because of our talent alone. I look forward to 7 having a field day in one of his last games as a Tiger.

I would not put my trust in Etling winning the game. LSU will win the game on the ground with mediocre QB play. Just hoping he doesn't turn the ball over

The LSU offense is not one that has historically given Arkansas problems. I started a thread on Berts success against "normal" offenses in his tenure here and his success against the run on the SECr.

He only gives up an average of 66 rush yards per game against non spread non mobile QB teams.
