Would you want a girl that weighed 5'8 115lbs in 2007', but she now weighs 180.
or do you want a girl that was 5'8 180lbs in 2007', but now weighs 115?
What does that matter to you? You haven't reached puberty yet and either would be too good for a negatiger puke like you.

Not enuf people on this board remember the the Archer, Hallman, and Dinardo years. Not to mention Stovall.
I have to admit thatI've been spoiled by the 2 NC and consistent success of 2001 - 2007.
But LSU has a lousy record of hiring coaches in general. And there are only a couple of Saban's, Stoops, Carrolls, Meyers, etc. to hire. And frankly, those guys aint coming to LSU. So a replacement would have to be an assumed up-and-comer like Saban was and Miles was supposed to be. Thats a risk no matter who is doing the hiring, and as I said, LSU has many, many more mishires than homeruns.
Is Miles perfect? No. But has he proven he can win in the SEC? Yes.
That already puts him ahead of anybody who would take the LSU job at this point.
He can recruit, and he is not afraid to change his staff when things arent working. But he has managed to do it in a way that allows assistants to find employment and save face. Think what you will, but that's classy.
Yes, I think LSU under Saban or Stoops or Meyer would be better overall, on a year to year basis. But we could roll the dice on someone thought to be the next big thing, and fail big-time. The SEC is a meat-grinder, and flaws are exposed quickly and ruthlessly.
If Miles continues to lose to AL and FL, then recruiting will suffer and his ability to lure big-name coordinators will suffer, and then he needs to go. Until that happens, we should appreciate the good traits that he has, support the team, and hope for more years like 2007.
In the 1990's a 9 - 3 record would have gotten the coach a 5yr extension. Everyone goes thru down cycles. Give Les a chance to put LSU back on top.

I think hes saying usually coaches have a special area they're good at. Like, Chavis is a LB coach and you see what they've done. Hes saying the offense sucked this year and the defense last. Hes saying Miles is lost in space and has no position he really coaches...he just hires other people. What does Miles do besides hiring assistants? Certainly doesn't seem like gameplans based on his interviews about assistants doing their jobs...
We all know its not clock management and if its O-line as his special position...then oh shite...

This isn't the 1990's, we are going into the 2010's. Why can't some of you quit with the you don't remember the bad times crap? I want a winner and to compete for the SEC championship every year. These last two years we haven't been close. If Les doesn't get it done next year, it is time to move on.

We were close this year. I'm not saying we didn't play sloppy ball and need a lot of luck to get there, but we were one 4th quarter hold on Bama and 1 timeout 19 seconds earlier from the SEC championship.

LSU finished 3 games out of first place. That's not close.
The Bama game may have been close, but if a win is a win, then a loss is a loss. LSU has finished 5 games and 3 games out from winning the SECW.

2001 SEC was really a down year for the conference. LSU 5-3 SEC Champs..

The days of Bear and Spurrier are gone. FL returned their whole team this year and didnt win the SEC, much less the NC.
I want a coach that will win the SEC and NC every year too. I want the NCAA to have to pass new laws to stop LSU.
But who do you see out there, right now, that will realistically come to LSU and do that?
Yeah Kelly at Cincy was a hot name, but has he won consistently in the SEC? Weis was gonna have ND in the hunt every year, until he didnt.
There is no sure thing. When you are griping about winning 9 games in the best conf in college football, maybe you should just be happy with what you got.

As evidenced by the 632 yards given up by Saban's alledged "Defense". The most yardage allowed this Decade..

First, I don't blame Perilloux for anything. We could have had Jesus as QB and we wouldn't be able to generate offense with the present OL and the coaching of same. I agree with you Miles screwed up with co-defensive co-ordinators and he corrected the mistake. Miles main problem is he is too loyal to some of his coaches and needs to kick butt and take names. I also don't like his union approach of senority. If a freshman is better, play him. But comparing his 4 years to Saban's 4 years, his 4 years are better than average or Saban's average. While LSU is preparing for the bowl game, he needs to address the OL personnel and coaching of same.He needs to ask the new coach from Florida which O-Linemen of LSU's did they think were the weak links when they were preparing their game plan against us this year because it certainly was a success. We only scored 3pts in the game.
