That was before Wiloford got hurt, him and Turner would have been in a position battle

If you had put Turner instead of Wiliford, than yes. Wiliford had zero chance of starting if those five were healthy.

And lots of people knew Hawkins was going to be tough to keep off the field. Because of Hawkins' potential, moving Alexander inside was not a novel concept, and Williford's injury just sped up the process.
