NO!!! NÔ BUNTS!! We cant do it. It’s not who we are.

There’s a time and place for a bunt, but it’s very few and far between. And it’s damn sure not with runners on 1st and 2nd with a guy who’s proven he can’t bunt and with the bottom of the order coming up. Even if he had gotten it down, it takes away the possibility of a big inning and puts all the pressure on the bottom of the order to come through when they had been atrocious the whole series. Yes, Jobert was up next and he could have singled them in, but with 1st base open and Millazo on deck, they weren’t giving him anything to hit. They probably would have intentionally walked him.

I actually think if the winds continue to plague the ballpark this week then every run becomes critical. I think Jay J. Has recognized this and that’s why he’s been trying to play small ball which isn’t a bad idea but you have to be able to execute.

That and because Thompson is wildly swinging. He’s in his head.

His last at bat was his best. He smoked two balls down the line that both ended up foul. If he can string together a few hits we can get going

This! As a team mate I’m encouraging him about how well he smoked those balls and keep doing what you’re doing! They will eventually fall! At this point you have to have this mindset to win it all!!

If Thompson can't bunt, why does he keep getting asked to bunt?

Every player needs to be able to bunt because honestly there's been plenty of situations where LSU should have laid down a bunt.

Perhaps we could move the guy that can’t hit or bunt further down the line up than 6th

No flat bats. Every time he has a flat bat to bunt. Angle it, hit the ball down.

Up 2-0. Men on 1st and 2nd. No outs. Beloso up. There is no more appropriate time to bunt. Unless you simply do not trust Beloso to get it down.

Most of the time when Thompson comes up it seems like a good time to bunt. Atleast to keep us out of the double play.

He’s just using too much force. Needs to catch the ball with the bat instead of trying to get fancy with pushes and drags.

The bunting calls were exactly the right calls. Remeber the WF guy hit a pop up bunting also. It shouldnt happen.
But small ball wins games and i think we will need small ball and steals to put pressure on WF and hopefully generate runs.

I was happy to see them willing to send Crews even though he stumbled.

Thompson looks like the pressure is starting to get to him both at the plate and in the field.

...because he can't hit and we needed a productive AB twice.
