Trying to think of a way to get his bat in the lineup. Plus no one has taken control of left yet

Absolutely. He could probably play every position but his future is probably infielder.

Which freshman is the one from my neck of the woods?

I'm from Benton ,in bossier parish. We have a guy on the team that played at airline high school in bossier city.

He's got a reputation of absolutely crushing the ball. They say he's the best player airlines had since Todd walker. I just forgot his name. We always have a bunch of guys on Lsus team that sound the Same or there difficult to separate one from the other in ur mind

He could easily play left field. He played center field his freshman year in high school and did a hell of a job. He’s fast and has a strong arm (throws 90+).

I say put him at 2nd every midweek and evaluate further. If he's playing solid D by conference play keep him there on the weekend. Maybe yesterday was some fluke, we can only hope.

Before the season Mainieri made comments about Doughty’s poor glove, so I don’t think it was a fluke.

The poor kid looked like he was about to cry after he made his second error.

I personally believe Mainieri took Cade out in order to prevent the kid from having a complete confidence breakdown. He'll get a lot of repetitions at second base in practice and he'll play there again when he's ready.

I hope he puts him right back out there today. Show some confidence in him and let him try to work through it himself. He should have stayed at the box after the game and been Fielding ground balls till somebody got tired of hitting.

Speaking of. Where is the line up? Game starts in 45 min huh?

Are we expecting his bat to come around?
After the 1st AB, it’s been suspect.

I don't think his bat is a concern at all. He has squared a lot of baseballs up. Just hasn't found as much grass yet. Not many Ks, plus hard contact, will equal success at the plate eventually.
