Yes we are in a crappy spot, but if we manage to get a Gilbert 2017 performance from someone out of the pen today, whole-staff game 1 vs WF we would then lineup

WF Game 2: Skenes
CWS Game 1: Floyd
CWS Game 2: Hurd

And would have just as good of a chance as anyone, these next two games will be the hardest but we still have a chance. Also I would start money or little as crazy as that sounds, Tenn just faced two rag arm lefties yesterday.

Why do people think we see Skenes starting on 4 days rest? I just don't see it

This will not happen.

If we do get there, it's Johnny Wholestaff till the finals.

Skenes would be limited but he would pitch Thursday, he normally throws a midweek bullpen on wednesday.

He won’t throw 100+ pitches but I could absolutely see him going Thursday and throwing around 50 pitches

Yeah, I'd rather possibly have him throw 100+ pitches in game 1 of the finals than waste him for 50 pitches out of the pen.

The risk of him not pitching at all is worth it.

I wanna know y'alls thoughts on starting Money or Little and just hoping they have it. Tenn started hitting rag arm lefties yesterday pretty well I feel like it would be the same thing for them seeing Cooper/Ack

Lol. Ain’t happening. You will see Skenes on Saturday if we make the finals or in a couple months in the minors or a MLB September call-up.

And rightfully so. He’s going to make probably hundreds of millions with his pitching arm. Jay ain’t risking a Skenes injury by pitching him early, national championship or not.

Skenes would pitch game 2 vs wake if possible. He won’t go 8-9 but he might get us halfway home and piece in Hurd

Meh, he throws 50 then he would be able to come back in game 3 most likely and have a real start. Have to get to the finals first and he will need to throw Thursday for that to happen

Idk if that’s necessarily a good thing considering we weren’t able to manufacture runs without the long ball

He’s pitched on 5 days rest twice this year. He’s going to pitch on 4/5 days rest for the rest of his career. Not saying he will or should pitch Thursday but acting like it’s impossible is silly.

You will see it. If we get there.

Skenes will want the ball. And he will get it.... may not be a start and go 6 or 7.

Might come in in the 7th and finish.

It helps any team in the loser's bracket because that should presumably reduce the length of innings for the bullpens.

Yes. That’s 3 days rest after what’s been essentially a bullpen day. He would absolutely be able to go game 3

This is true. Blake Money could come in and “2013 UCLA” them to death.

By that I mean grove fast balls all night and watch balls die out on the warning track all game long.

A bullpen day is not 50 pitches
