Was it me, or did he kickoff after that last TD? Did he put it in the seats or was there a penalty that moved him up a bit?

This has been discussed. O told him he needs to learn to kickoff if he wants to make a NFL roster.

He kicked it over the south end zone fence!! 55 yard practice field goals routinely hit the players tunnel. At least 65 yards. He could make it from 70 yards

York being good at KO’s is the least surprising thing ever

Yeah I sit in the second row behind the goal post. That’s the second kickoff that hit my row…one did last week too.

So let me get this straight, you think O told York, the best kicker in college, that he needs to “learn” how to kick off to make the NFL? The same kicker who is 5/6 from 50yards and beyond?

Ok

Would not be surprised if Orgeron said that. Orgeron says things that don’t make sense

Yes that is correct. NFL teams don’t carry a kick off specialist and want their kickers to kick off also. Not saying Cade can’t do it, just that he hasn’t so far.

No, someone asked O if York would turn pro and he responded that if he wants to make an NFL roster he has to be able to do two things so he needs to be able to KO. So not really sure how the opportunity transpired but the result was excellent.

Considering that is from Coach O, maybe you should do some research before commenting.

Actually, O didn't say he would have to learn to kickoff. He said instead he will have to show that he can do both kickoff and kick field goals to get drafted. Which is why Ed O permitted him to kick off after the last touchdown and he kicked it in the stands.

I always knew Cade York was a better kickoff kicker than Avery Atkins. At least he was in high-school. Hence, kicking it into the stands given how strong his kicking leg is, is not a surprise.

Why did we not have him doing it already?

Avery Atkins does a helluva job, not to mention is a pretty darn serviceable last line of defense in case a returner gets loose. I don't want my golden legged place kicker on the KO team when my regular guy knocks them in the endzone 85% of the time.

B/C (just in case he muffs one) he might get injured. Atkins can tackle! I like him kicking off. That ain’t changing. Don’t fix what ain’t broke.

Obviously, because Avery Atkins was already doing well before York arrived as the Kickoff specialist. So they didn't fix what wasn't already broken.

Nonetheless, York was an outstanding kickoff kicker in high school. He also kicked them all over the end-zone in the US Army All-American All-Star game in San Antonio. I remember wondering what they would do with Avery Atkins once York arrived on campus.

Serious question if York continues at the clip he is does he go pro after this year? Would be even get drafted? Or is he better off staying and Cashing in on some NIL money?
